Electronic icon Aphex Twin drops a collection of old synth jams alongside previously unheard demos and outtakes.
In ‘part two’ of his extensive interview with blogger Dave Noyze, Richard James aka Aphex Twin shares with us a treasure chest of musical experiments from his archives. Most of them were made on Buchla and Serge modular synths about twelve years ago, described by himself as ‘a fucking racket’. Both parts of the interview are well worth a read – the conversation explores a range of areas in James’ background, from his influences to studio gear. ‘Part one‘ even came with music supposedly written by James’ five year old son. Also featured is a demo version of ‘CIRCLONT6A [141.98][syrobonkus mix]’ from Syro, outtakes from his performances at the Barbican and with the ‘remote control orchestra’ in Poland. So, if you’re still after more Aphex after the hype campaign that was ‘Syro’ – get stuck into this.
