Hyp 011: Martin Kemp

Coming across like a garage-loving Photek, with syncopated kicks and snares mixing with the sharpest synth stabs to create a 360 degree rhythmic experience, Martin Kemp (younger brother of fellow Blunted Robot artist Brackles), has been testing systems across the UK for a minute now, with releases on the much-adored BR label and remixes for the likes of Kicks n’ Snares protege DJ Naughty and No Hats No Hoods grime producer Royal T.

With his Hyp Mix the man himself takes in the rolling garage flex that has seen him become a regular in the UK bass scene’s top flight crates, taking in some fresh productions from the likes of Deep Teknologi, Procedure, Zinc, Bok Bok and the Kemp brothers themselves, the mix takes the last 30 years of house and techno as influence, melds it with a 2-Step sensibility and delivers it to the ear with all the smoothness of blend we’ve come to expect from the Blunted Robots camp.
