Tom Trago

YouTube Sessions: Tom Trago

Deciding to pursue his dream of making music since the age of 15, Tom Trago has then gone on to great notoriety. The Amsterdam based producer has been releasing with Rush Hour sine 2006, with his third album ‘The Light Fantastic’ coming out last October. Throughout Trago’s career, he’s maintained a consistent sound whilst simultaneously displaying artistic development. Creative health is maintained by frequent collaborations, including projects with Bok Bok, Cinnaman and Tyree Cooper. Trago also runs his own record label and club night entitled Voyage Direct, where the artist showcases local music and presents producers with a platform to showcase their abilities. With regular support from piers and more exoteric publications such as the Guardian, Trago maintains his underground clout and crossover appeal. Early influences and experimentations with Afro-beat and Jazz come as no surprise judging from Tom’s adeptness as a DJ and producer.

Ahead of his performance alongside Hunee and San Proper at One Day Festival 21st June we managed to catch up with Tom to present his favourite videos from the visual void that is YouTube. As expected the selection includes a brilliantly diverse range of music, including summer nostalgia, Panorama Bar memories and a majestic performance from a brass band in a tunnel.

The first part of a legendary composition. A MUST for every electronic music lover
