This Friday (3rd June) sees a Chicago legend come to London, as house pioneer Lil Louis guests at Corsica Studio’s Beyond The Clouds event.
Having made history in 1987 with the game-changing ‘French Kiss’, Lil Louis’ heritage runs as deep as any in the Chicago house game. Having been one of the first promoters to celebrate the developing scene in the mid-eighties through his huge events at Future, his own club based in the city.
His experiments with reel-to-reel recording techniques led him to collaborate with names like Byron Stingily, Marshall Jefferson and Masters at Work’s Lil’ Louis Vega, and following the international success of ‘French Kiss’, Louis made history by signing with Epic for his debut album ‘From the Mind of Lil’ Louis’ in 1989.
Beyond the Clouds bring the house master to Corsica Studios this weekend, alongside deep house innovators Mode D and Juju & Jordash, and some of London’s finest house and techno selectors in the form of Süd Electronic’s Lakuti and Body Hammer/World Unknown’s Joe Hart.
We have 2 pairs of tickets to the show, and 3 runners up prizes of £10 guestlist, if you can answer the following question:
What exclusive club is Louis a reluctant member of?
