Prefuse 73: NARCO BREAKUPSMIX

Guillermo Scott Herren, aka Prefuse 73 has been a mastermind of experimental Hip-Hop and beats for the best part of two decades now. Releasing material under several aliases now including Prefuse 73, Delarosa & Asora, Ahmad Szabo, and Piano Overlord across various labels including Warp and Lex, Guillermo’s productions are a distinct blend of Jazz and Ambient infused Hip-Hop sounds, whilst his DJ sets are idiosyncratic mixture of breaks, beats and bass. Now eight studio albums deep, Prefuse 73 is renowned as a somewhat unsung hero of within experimental Hip-Hop.

A rare UK show from Prefuse 73,tonight he will headline the first event in brand new London series Clock Strikes 13, hosted by Lex Records. Joining Prefuse on the line-up are Lex label comrades Golden Rules, as well as High Lucia, Edan and Paten Locke for a one-off meeting of minds. Reflecting his far-reaching tastes, Prefuse has put together a mix for Hyponik that mirrors some of his favourite selections, and hints at what to expect in his set tonight.

Running through from his weekend until 19th December, Clock Strikes 13 will celebrate the eclectic electronic genres that shape our underground – with genres that span from Techno and Bass to Hip-Hop, Grime and everything in-between. Over 110 artists will play across 24 label showcases including parties with XL Recordings, Ninja Tune, Hyperdub, Awful Records and many more. For more information head to www.cs13.london
