IAMDDB, the 21-year-old emerging vocalist who hails from Manchester, has been causing quite the stir over the last year with her self-named sound of urban jazz. Equally influenced by hazy beats and the new wave of alternative r&b, she first came to public attention after riding over Flying Lotus’ instrumental ‘JAZB‘.
Favouring and finding suitable home on leftfield sounds, IAMDDB’s sonic explorations have seen her work with a range of underground beat makers. Her single ‘Leaned Out‘, in collaboration with INKA, received high demand from mainstream radio and pushed her status further as one of the UK’s most emerging, soulful talents.
Most recently releasing her second independent project, Vibe, Volume 2, IAMDDB continues to experiment with different textures and explore her musical identity, most notably on her collaboration with drum and bass artist Lenzman.
With her tour schedule beginning to fill, we caught up with the Mancunian ahead of her performance at Outlook Festival, asking her to share her favourite tracks for any mood…
