SSTROM is a long-term figure of activism in Sweden’s experimental techno community. With a previous release for the Madrid based Semantica Records, the producer has begun to exceed the boundaries of electronic production, through crafting aquatic and expansive techno, which breezes through the nordic atmospheres.
The Swede’s latest release Vitriol is a journey through the producer’s personal experiences, an adventure which compacts the warmly emotive memories into audio form. Through using nostalgic flashbacks of his father’s painting pigments, the forward thinking techno contributor, has forged a tale of deeply rich ambience, layered below surging electronic machine sequences.
Released on SHXCXCHXCSH’s label Rösten, the EP transcends the grizzled techno sound and ‘Umbra’ brings all these elements into a detuned sonic submersion. The track collates metallic audio patterns with a sea of rich hum and fragmented melodies, to form a tune suitable for any space traveler.
The Vitriol EP is out January 31 on Rösten.
