First Listen: My Nu Leng – ‘Tesla’

The first listen of a new My Nu Leng track, forthcoming on their Black Butter Records EP.

Bristolian duo My Nu Leng‘s debut vinyl release came on LNUK last Summer in the form of the ‘Damp’ EP. Although well-received, they really burst onto the scene later in the year with the killer ‘Hips N’ Thighs’/’The Grid’ 12″ for 877 Records.

Both tracks, one of which is a collaboration with Majora, are an exciting step forward from previous work and, by the sound of ‘Tesla’ and ‘Elite’, their new three-track EP on Black Butter is expected to be another.

Much like ‘The Grid’, ‘Tesla’ references early dubstep with its a deep, swung low-end, but, in its neat drum structuring, manipulates that sound into a funky/garage hybrid. My Nu Leng on top form!
