Based across the UK, the Loose Lips collective operates in a number of creative fields. Curating events, pushing editorial content and hosting a variety of radio shows, together these outlets work with the same focus, to push quality underground electronic music and offer spotlight to many of the scenes’ hidden talents.
If that wasn’t enough to keep them busy, they also manage a label. With a string of well-received artist compilations and a recent cassette from Berlin’s Circula, their latest effort comes via Japanese producer Masaki Uchida.
With music forthcoming on Falty DL’s Blueberry Records and tracks being picked up by influential figures such as Mary Anne Hobbs, the mysterious Japanese producer arrives at Loose Lips with his debut album, an atmospheric LP that employs attentive noise and precise detail as its weaponry and in turn produces ambient textures made up of broken forms.
Ahead of its release, we premiere the remix of track ‘Logos’ from fellow Loose Lips member Rico Casazza, who heavies up the fragility of Masaki’s harmonies, adding low end rumble and forceful percussion to create an equally compelling piece. Hear below.
Xenolinguistics is out Oct 6 on Loose Lips. Pre-order it here.
