Check out this exclusive preview from newcomer Kimyan Law’s debut release…
Born to an Austrian mother and a Congolese father, 19 year old Kimyan Law grew up in Vienna. If you’re thinking such mix-match ancestry would result in some similarly unique musical fusions, then you’d be on the right lines. His music, whilst rooted in Drum ‘n’ Bass, explores dynamics far beyond the genre’s tag, conjuring vastly colourful soundscapes and textures with masterful production skills.
‘Eclairage’ takes place as the B side on his new EP, with ‘Run Ames’ (feat. Robert Manos) on the flip. The record drops next week on London D’n’B imprint Blu Mar Ten Music, the label who are also releasing his debut LP next month (from which both ‘Eclairage’ and ‘Run Ames’ are taken). ‘Eclairage’ demonstrates high skills of both vision in composition and production technique. The resulting track is a delicate groove of half-time clicks, gently layered pads and a recurring motif of a clumsy but magical music box.
‘Eclairage/Run Ames’ is out on Blu Mar Ten 27th October. You can pre-order the release via iTunes.
