MadTech to inaugurate 2013 with two hefty cuts from rising talent, Applebottom.
The Bristolian teenager is next up for Kerri Chandler‘s MadTech Records following a slew of vinyl and digital releases this year from Krystal Klear, Citizen, Thefft, Cloaka & Boxwork, Lakosa & iO, Voyeur, Kashii and more.
Applebottom‘s forthcoming record percolates elements of garage and classic house with the clout of modern UK techno into a winning, yet tried and tested, formula. The youngster (like many of his peers) has a sound way beyond his years which is demonstrated on previous efforts ‘Diamondz’ and his remix of Serani’s ‘No Games’.
‘All Nite’ bubbles up nicely with marimba-esque pads and standardly sophisticated vocal work, before collapsing into a world of weighty bass, sounding similar to work we’ve heard by Boddika and Marcus Intalex’s Trevino guise this year. ‘Turn On The Faith’ goes straight for the jugular with an upfront percussive workout getting cozy with a battering kick drum, Chicago ghetto-house vocal and stabbing bass. This is another promising step forward for young Joe Arthur, we look forward to a bright 2013 for Applebottom and MadTech Records.
