William Green aka London-based producer Aggborough (named after Kidderminster Harriers’ football stadium) has been one to watch for a while, having previously been part of production duo Joe and Will Ask. With the pair focusing on their solo projects (Joe produces as Ashworth), Green offered his first release for the fast-rising OTB Records earlier this year with ‘The Answer To Everything / MitzpeRamon’. The label’s fourth offering comes in the form of Aggborough’s ‘Bats/Modal’, out August 17. Containing two visceral yet contrasting Techno cuts, it demonstrates Green’s dynamic abilities as solo producer and his willingness to delve into the darkest corners of club music, as evident on brooding A-side ‘Bats’.
Check out our exclusive stream of poignant B-side ‘Modal’ below. An expansive slow burner that uses drifting chords and a crackling vocal that ironically confesses they ‘don’t really like loud noises’, before opening up into a full on Techno assault with brazen basslines and harsh percussion. Aggborough’s productions could easily be enjoyed on headphones or in the club; it’s no surprise he’s gained continued support from the likes of Answer Code Request, Slam, Laurent Garnier and Mano Le Tough.
‘Bats / Modal’ is out August 17 via OTB on digital and vinyl.
