US Producer, DJ, visual artist and fine art professor Mike Parker has been doing his thing for over two decades now. Releasing a vast array of EPs and two full-lengths over the years via his Geophone imprint and outfits such as Prologue, Spectral Sound and Defective, Mike has become one of the most renowned figures in techno.
An art teacher by day, Mike’s abstract form of techno embraces the principles of minimalism whilst exploring the limits of its confinements. Following a two-track EP earlier in the year, Mike’s latest effort comes via new Berlin-based label Atmophile Electronics.
Founded by Ankurbln and Naty Seres, the imprint’s first release comes as compilation LP, Fun•da•men•tum 001. Focusing towards the atmospheric side of techno, Mike joins a collection of contemporary producers like Matrixxman, Sofus Forsberg, Polar Inertia who make up the LP.
With heavily modulated drones, hammering kicks and fuzzy textures, Mike’s ‘Saurian Skin’ serves up as an uncompromising ride. Listen below.
Fun•da•men•tum 001 is out September 15 on Atmophile Electronics. Pre-order it here.
