North London’s famous good-time boozer, The Old Queen’s Head hits six this April Bank Holiday and never one to sit out on a party, they’re readying for their biggest birthday celebration yet.
Last year saw acts such as Jamie Woon, Chad Valley, Rob Da Bank and the Maccabees soundtrack the birthday fun – this year though on Sunday 29th April, London’s most-ambitious wax-lyricist Kate Tempest (loved by the likes of XFM’s John Kennedy and Radio 1’s Edith Bowman) takes hold of the party-proceedings.
Also featuring is West African party band AJ Holmes and the Hackney Empire as well as series of hotly tipped acts including Loverproof, Melody, Melodica and Me, Maia, Josephine Lloyd and Sarah Johns Music Party. There will also be sets from some of the pubs favourite DJ’s including Young & Lost Club, Communion, Luv Luv Luv Records and Blue Flowers.
Come join the party and celebrate the best double-whammy of no-work Monday and the Old Queen’s Head’s big-birthday on Sunday 29th April. They’re only 6 once: bring the cake.
