Electroacoustics bring you another night of forward-thinking live music at one of East London’s best small gig venues.
At the top of the bill is Kelpe whose show with long time collaborator Chris Walmsley (Psapp, Broadcast, etc) incorporates MPC style beat manipulations, tiny analogue synths and a lot of bass. The explosive live act has travelled far and wide, from California to Lithuania, playing alongside diverse acts such as Aphex Twin, Ghostpoet, Gaslamp Killer, and Daedelus. He has released records on DC Recordings, Black Acre, Fremdtunes and Svetlana Industries and has a new LP coming this summer.
flies+flies (flies and flies) got such a great response at our last show in November we felt compelled to ask them back. Although they have only been gigging since last October they seem to be hitting London with their sound fully formed. Now a tight three piece – turntable-controlled electronics, cello and front man Dan Griffis on vocals and guitar, they will be playing a lot of new material from their debut LP currently in construction. Their live show is an unusual but truly powerful mix of 808 beats, dark pop songs, stark harmonics and electronic noise.
Lychee are returning to our shores after signing to FIN Records and playing their SWSX showcase. They are a duo formed by Seattleite Sage Redman and Londoner Joe Gillick. The band utilise strings, trumpet, piano and guitar in contrast with synth and processed percussion. Beautiful, skewed pop.
