Despite being a US producer, Todd Edwards is often described as one of the godfathers of UK Garage. In the early-to-mid 90s his style of chopped vocal sampling over swung US Garage beats gained him huge respect from the broader House communities on both sides of the Atlantic. His quality productions have led to literally hundreds of remixes, including edits for Justice, Hot Chip, Wildchild and St. Germain.
Edwards has collaborated with Daft Punk twice – he sang, co-wrote and co-produced ‘Face to Face’ on ‘Discovery’ and ‘Fragments of Time’ on their most recent album ‘Random Access Memories’, for which he received a grammy. He recently contributed a track to Oneman’s ‘Solitaire III’ mixtape and is supposedly working on a vocal album.
