Mike Skinner is the man behind the musical phenomenon that was The Streets for ten years. In that time he won an Ivor Novello, a Brit, and changed the sound of UK music forever. Now that he has retired the moniker of The Streets, Mike continues to push things forward with his genre bending DJ sets.
Tipped as one of Timeout Magazine’s ‘DJ Stars Of 2012’, the hype surrounding Liverpool’s own Melé keeps on growing. At just 20, he is already recognised as an established producer with a series of releases that have got both artists and critics hungry for more.

Soundcrash
Soundcrash welcomes in the new year with a night that will see some of the UK’s foremost bass peddlers put the KOKO soundsystem severely to the test! Tell the January blues to do one from the dancefloor in a breakbeat stylee with LTJ Bukem’s jazz-infused drum and bass grooves. But first, kick off the night and warm up your cockles with the Trojan Sound System, themselves a testament to British sound system culture. Their forebears Channel One Sound System – thirty years on and stronger than ever – will also take the stage to provide a sense of that dubwise perspective from the rootical side.
A brilliant coming together of icons that can not be missed – and if you’re quick you can bag yourself a ticket for just a fiver and see you down the front!

Pacha Presents is the night that aims to bring something credible to the celebrated London club known the world over. Beneath the famous Pacha cherries, Pacha Presents plays out each weekend and in 2013 will do so with more discerning line-ups than ever as big improvements to the venue continue to take place in the first quarter of the year.

For our fifth party and the first of many planned for 2013, Hush House are proud to present an artist who’s been at the top of our most wanted list for quite some time, a true master of cinematic, synth-laden, arse-moving techno jams.
REDSHAPE [Running Back / Delsin]
DYLAN THOMPSON [Hush House]
R & J [Hush House]
His press release tries to spin that well-worn yarn about an anonymous masked techno demon, but we know you lot aren’t daft so we won’t bore you with that one again… all you need to know is that he’s a bloke from Germany with releases on Delsin, Music Man and Styrax Leaves – not to mention a highly lauded recent LP for Gerd Janson’s Running Back, eloquently described by Resident Advisor as a “typically filmic and fine-grain opus laden with industrial romanticism” – and a live set that’s been doing the business everywhere from Berghain to Trouw to Fabric to… The Garage? Yes, of course it’ll do the bloody business. We wouldn’t have booked him otherwise. Be there or be Square.
Support, as always, comes from HH residents Dylan Thompson and R & J.

We’re excited about our first session of 2013 back in West London’s loudest basement with Kid Kanevil playing one of his genre defying live sets.
DJ/Producer kidkanevil first came to prominence with the release of his critically acclaimed debut album ‘Problems & Solutions’ back in 2007, and has since gone from strength to strength. Described by Bonobo as “like the best moments of RJD2 and Timbaland combined…incredible!” and “a sonic visionary” by iDJ, the kid has earnt the praise and respect of numerous peers and journalists, counting the likes of DJ Shadow and Wire Magazine amongst his fans, and progressives Tokimonsta, Blue Daisy and Illum Sphere amongst his contemporaries.
Having 3 solo albums under his belt the Kid’s latest offering see’s him team up with Japan’s Daisuke Tanabe to release ‘Kidsuke’. Both a headphone experience and dance floor dynamite, it’s an intelligent journey into the creative mind of a truly innovative and experimental producer. Fresh off 2012′s Red Bull Music Academy and ready to unleash a barrage of new music and collaborations on the world, this is just the beginning.
Blurring the lines between hip-hop, future beats, jazz, jungle, dubstep and worldwide sounds, Kid Kanevils DJ/Live sets are a force to be reckoned with.
This month also see’s the return of our free flexi disk give way. Kid Kanevil has blessed us with the unreleased extended DJ edit of his ’10 second’ reflip from the ‘freebeatsnbleeps’ beat tape, available only at B-SIDE

THEM
The Launch Party // From the people behind THEM and The Peoples Ear: London’s first Electronic music event dedicated to African sound. Music ranging from the cross-pollination of UK Electronia and African music, to the more authentic African styles Kuduro, Highlife and Afro beat – the perfect mix to dance to, on a Funktion One sound system and with dedicated visuals all night – for just £5.
Bass Clef (hybrid DJ/Live set)
Bass Clef is an artist who really connects with several music traditions outside of UK bass music and reinterprets them into his own. He is noted for bringing his trombone to live shows as a nod to his enduring Jazz influences. His music often features the influences of African Rhythms and its percussive styles of Kuduro and Soca and he often introducing ravers to the sounds of Afrobeat in his DJ sets, one of which can be heard here – http://www.spannered.org/radio/1678/
Romare (Live A/V set)
Romare is a relatively newer artist becoming recognised for a notable talent. He has developed a textured and brooding sound based around Uk post dubstep and techno sounds of recent years but redefined with African instruments and music and drum patterns taken from Afro Beat, Highlife and Tribal traditions. The result is infectious and engaging. He brings his own visual show to Kartel too, a reel of tribal drummers and patterns, which he recently aired on the Boiler room – http://youtu.be/UXmHgVA0cMg
And Kartel Residents:
The Busy Twist
The Busy Twist are very much part of the musical backbone of Kartel. Theirs is predominantly a pure uplifting and infectious take on Highlife and Ghanian music influenced by the country and its musicians first hand, on their regular trips out there. More than this, The Busy Twist (and its two members Tuesday Born and Ollie Twist) record the tracks in Ghana, collaberating with the best musical and vocal talents, and elecronic instrumentation is mixed with live recording. Thus the influence of UK dance music has been informative in their past, but is only just relevant to their project enough that the tracks translate in the club, allowing the full energy of Ghana to remain in tact, and their collective ‘The People’s Ear’ aims to do the same . Hear The Busy Twist Friday Night http://youtu.be/j-OPl2CpD-I
Moto & Bagheera.
Moto is the promoter and resident DJ of an alternative Electronic club night in London called THEM. When Bagheera joined the resident list last year the two began playing each other records and mixing together at home, and soon found that as well as dance music they both shared the passion for Afro Beat, Soweto and Highlife music, they began to compile mixes of largely Afro music, and its cross pollination with UK House and Techno, and begun to wonder why no one was putting a regular night on, so they made the plans, and hope Kartel will be a label soon representing this idea in the UK. They have also been digging through images and will be running the Visuals for a large portion of the night https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kartel/159353004208980

Hum + Buzz take over the Peckham Palais with another line up specially curated by label bosses Ikonika and Optimum.
Top of the bill is Bok Bok, an artist who’s left an indelible mark on the London club scene. With the L-Vis 1990, he runs the influential Night Slugs label and clubnight. As a producer and DJ, Bok Bok’s sound remains at the cutting edge of underground club culture, simultaneously referencing the sonic heritage of 8 bar grime and classic Chicago house music. He also designs the majority of Hum + Buzz artwork, making it fitting that he should come through and bless the decks at their sophomore party.
Shy One takes the low slung framework of UK Funky and infuses it with her own fizzing synths and off-key melodies. Her unique sound caught the attention of Scratcha DVA, who released her debut album Bedknobs and Boomkicks on his label late last year. The album is a tightly infectious package bubbling with ideas, and acts as strong calling card for the young London based producer.
Finally we have Morgan Zarate, the brains behind the dazzling Hookid and Broken Heart Collector EPs for Hyperdub. The former Spacek producer uses his roots in soul and hip hop to craft infectiously psychedelic R&B cuts, and his DJ sets are not to be missed.
Support on the night comes from Ikonika and Optimum, as well as the LDN DC.residents.

We are back with the multi sensory club night that’s a treat for eyes and ears!
Europe’s (possibly the worlds) first monthly ALL audio visual party has already been growing from strength to strength as Our incredible line up of VJs mix music through the state of the art sound-system and videos, new and old, on two huge screens at this all new party experience.
Whether it be Michael Jackson walking down the light up sidwalk to the disco thump of ‘Billie Jean’, Jay-Z & Kanye flying round in a model packed Maybach, Tyler The Creator holding a roach or Rick James trying to win his girl back after a heavy night out, videos really did kill the radio star and are now as much of how we experience music as the music itself. We now take those videos blending them, and so much more, into a trail blazing nightlong experience that is sure to set London alight.
Our crack line up of resident VJs (Video-Jockeys) have years of experience in rocking parties up and down the country and around the world so you know that you’re in safe hands for this brand new experience as they bring you sights and sounds from Hip-Hop to, Soul, House to Disco and way beyond.
DJ Woody is one of the pioneers of the UK’s AV scene. This world champion Hip-Hop DJ has been working away creating his own videos that he scratches into an incredible collage of sight and sound that has to been seen and heard to be believed.
Through his iconic The Doctor’s Orders parties Spin Doctor has been responsible some of the best parties in London for the last 7+ years and with MAV that trend is set to continue at a pace!
DJ Rags is one of the team behind the successful Livin’ Proof Hip-Hop parties as well as being one a resident on NTSad the Boiler Room – the seminal online streaming broadcaster where he aired his first ever VJ set.
CWD is our man from the land down under. Since taking up residence on our shores he has been making surfable sized waves with his sets at parties like Bump and his stream of video online video mixes.

January 2013 sees another massive line-up at OneMore! We are proud to present you this Swedish duo called SKUDGE! They perform a full size LIVE set, as LIVE as it can be, using only analogue machinery… This is what they have to say:
“Machines do speak a language understood and appreciated by humans. Measured by the success of Skudge, an artistic duo that has delivered a lot in a very short time. Combining their inspiration and talent through wires and analogue equipment, they seem to always present something new – in a very faithful style.
What remains most segnificant on their output through the main label Skudge Records, as well as their remix material present on a row of different labels, it must be their exceptional sense of loops and unexpected detail in their productions.”
Expect them to do what they do best – their own music on their own terms, meaning that wherever their journey brings to us and them, it will always be very tasteful.
Joining them there will be Ryan Elliott, a familier face and sound for OneMore as we had the pleasure of meeting him back in july ’12… He hardly needs any introduction as he’s a regular at Barghein / Panorama bar and is integral part of the Ostgut-Ton family…
Joining our international guests will be our beloved residents Outart plus we’ll have the pleasure of showcasing our very own special Arnaud Le Texier B2B Antonio De Angelis….
On that note, check out “Hybrid EP” (Children of tomorrow) from Antonio De Angelis, Arnaud Le Texier, Ryan Elliott… It’s been getting amazing feedbacks from the likes of Ben Klock, Laurent Garnier and many more….

Red Bull Music Academy, Louche
We’re back at Plan B for another Red Bull Music Academy show-stopper, if this doesn’t get rid of your January blues nothing will!
First up we welcome back to Louche seminal Detroit artist, Omar S. Up there with the likes of Derrick May, Carl Craig and Jeff Mills, Alex Omar Smith has been another major player in the Motor City Sounds. In the game for over ten years, releasing music on his label FXHE, Alex has set the world alight with his raw, unfiltered, anthemic house and techno masterpieces. With his new album due out in January, there surely hasn’t been a better time to see Omar S come to town.
A Detroit boy from another era is next up, the wildly talented Kyle Hall. Described when breaking through as one of the most talented youngsters around by fellow Mo Town luminaries Theo Parish and Omar S, Kyle’s status has sky rocketed since his first release when he was just 15! His label Wild Oats has been his main output, but he’s also released on FXHE, Warp and Third Ear over the years. He’s a master of deep house of course, but Kyle has also proved his ability to move seamlessly between genres, switching it up with soulful hip hop, jazzy ambient and futuristic electro music.
Putting out classy house and disco edits on Future Times, Rush Hour and Retreat, Hunee completes the action in Room 1. A great producer but an even greater DJ, the Korean born Berlin resident has been on our radar since he taught us a lesson in technical DJing the first time we saw him spin. The guy’s turntable skills need to be seen and heard to be believed!
Resident of rural Tuscany, Nick Anthony Simoncino’s musical stylings are deeply rooted in the sounds of Chicago and Detroit rather than the Italian countryside. A vinyl junkie and total hardware nerd, Simoncino’s impressive discography includes loads solo releases, collabs with Tevo Howard, he’s even been remixed by Mr Larry Heard. Check his 2012 Louche Podcast for what to expect in Plan B’s intimate second room.
And finally Mr Beatnick, a Londoner and Red Bull Music Academy graduate who’s career started in Hip Hop, before turning his ears to House and Techno. His music is quirky, shuffly and downright groovy, perfect for Plan B’s basement room , which by the way is hosted tonight by the ever impressive Oscillate Wildly outfit.
Our previous Louche/RBMA event was probably the finest London party we have ever thrown, with the sound, visuals, crowd and overall atmosphere at unbelievable levels. Join us this January as we do it all over again x
Tickets – All previous London shows have sold out in advance so we recommend buying a ticket in advance.

Signal Life is a label run & curated by TEETH & DESTO, both most notably backed by a recording history on DJ ONEMAN’s 502 Recordings and Ramp Recordings.
2012 saw the first three installments to Signal Life’s first series of releases, three split 12″‘s by raw, topical underground talent, from the label head honchos to Bristol’s magnificent KOWTON, with other topical releases on Hessle Audio & All Caps, as well as young & deservedly hyped talents LAST JAPAN & VISIONIST. The releases also coined the direction of the label: raw, dark, stripped-down, machine drum driven & dancefloor effective sound.
Signal Life starts 2013 with our fourth release, for which we team up New York’s ZEBRA KATZ & Paris’ FRENCH FRIES. The tunes, SEX SELLZ and MODULE respectively, assume a 120-ish dance floor stance; Zebra Katz’s take is a sultry, ultra-slowed-down strip, where French Fries’ drum machines flirt with Berlin techno chords. Both artists are following an action-packed year — Zebra Katz with IMA READ on Diplo’s Jeffrees imprint and French Fries with a gang of the biggest underground hits in the drum machine driven vein of YO VOGUE. The release is a big one.
Signal Life label night brings the label roster to Peckham Palais, for the first ever London label night.
We about to swerve things.

AVA WORD: THE OPENING PARTY OF 2013, with special guest Andre Lodermann.
Ava Word, London’s favourite daytime party, is back even bigger and better. Following its massive success of last year, Ava Word is kicking off 2013 with special guest ANDRE LODERMANN who will be travelling into Shoreditch from Berlin, Germany.
Lodermann is one of Germany’s most succesful DJs, responsible for classic hits such as ‘Where are you Now?’ and recently his amazing remix of DJ Hell’s ‘I Prefer Woman to Man’
As they always do, Ava Word will be providing the best in Deep Tech Underground house with residents Gavin Peters and Adam Cotier, who will be joined by D’Vinci, Two of Us, Roch Mix and the Mascot, Mark Paul, Farina and Playtime Productions.
Taking place at Shoreditch’s infamous XOYO, 32-37 Cowper Street, EC2A4AP London
