London Live – the newest edition to the Ibiza Live and Mallorca Live event series is the next must-attend event; bringing not only sunshine from its beachy background to the UK capital, but also the biggest A-list line-up and Capital FM talent!
Professor Green couldn’t wait to play the first ever London Live, having played Ibiza Live this Summer along with Jessie J, Tinie Tempah, Example, Rizzle Kicks, Labrinth, Wretch 32 and the legendary Rev Run (Run DMC). He will be supported by Sincere.
Andi Durrant and James Barr from Capital FM will also be banging out their favourite tunes.
We are not finished yet either! The Brixton venue is none other than the legendary Electric Brixton [formerly The Fridge], a place that quickly achieved a 4/5* rating from customers after its massive re-launch in 2011, thanks to it’s the heavyweight sound system that penetrates almost every corner of the building and its vibrant atmosphere.
Proud of its theatrical background, 1650 capacity and reasonable drinks prices, the lucky ones that manage to lock down on tickets will not be disappointed.

On Saturday 1st December THE PLAYGROUND PR hosts a night of some of the best unsigned talent from across London at the infamous PROUD GALLERIES. With 2 artists launching new material, it should make for a very special evening in the famous Horse Stables at PROUD Camden.

“Yannick Ilunga is a 21-year-old born to an Angolan Mother and a Congolese Father who currently lives in South Africa. We found him there making some of the most beautiful and original electronic music we’ve heard in a long time. “Till We Ghosts” was the stunning debut single from the Cape Town-based producer Yannick Ilunga, aka Petite Noir. He crafts his innovative sound alone with live instruments and electronics; his remarkable voice underpinned by forward-thinking production. A unique concoction of influences, Petite Noir is able to seamlessly fuse intricate contemporary electronics with his stirring, soulful vocal and African shuffles that echo his homeland. Fronting a full live band, his remarkable live performances show him to also be a captivating performer with an astonishing voice.”

Originally commissioned by the Unsound Festival (Krakow) in 2011, ’Her Ghost’ is an homage to Chris Marker’s La Jetée. Pioneering electronic producer Kode 9, visual artist collective MFO and academic / performance artist Ms Haptic have reworked Marker’s science fiction film-photo-essay original in this immersive, powerful live cinema experience. Marker’s original story of a disturbed soldier from the future traveling through time is refracted, placing the mysterious and obscured character of the woman at the heart of the narrative. The performance will be accompanied by a selection of music promos from Kode 9′s agenda setting Hyperdub label.
The sonic journey continues in the benugo lounge for a late after party soundtracked by special guest DJs from Hyperdub.

Rhythmatic gets Perlonized! For their final installment of 2012 Rhythmatic goes all out, bringing in two very special guests from the infamous Perlon label – Thomas Melchior and Fumiya Tanaka. Berlin based Perlon, run by Zip and Markus Nikolai, hosts the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Baby Ford, Luciano, James Dean Brown and Margaret Dygas.
Thomas Melchior is no doubt one of the key artists to come out on the label. He remains a legendary name in the industry and would be for years to come. From Germany to the US, Spain and finally the UK Melchior has always championed underground sound and his music has without a doubt shaped tastes and creativity of many artists on both sides of the Atlantic and beyond. Never the one to follow trends, Melchior stayed true to his eclectic music taste, forming part of many projects such as Ohm, Vulva/Yoni and Lady Miss Kiers’ (Deelite)and releasing under various monikers on labels such as Aphex Twin’s Rephlex, Playhouse, Perlon and his own label Aspect. Nowadays, Melchior continues to surprise the audience worldwide with his genre bending sounds and cutting edge performances.
With a musical career spanning over 15 years, Fumiya Tanaka is renowned as a true artist of his genre. Tanaka’s performances and productions have gone from strength to strength, earning him respect of industry professionals and techno lovers worldwide. Recently the artist has been working on the live unit, “DARTRIIX” with RADIQ aka Yoshihiro HANNO and has already released two EPs and a full length album on Op.Sisc as well as numerous Perlon releases. Nowadays Tanaka is about to start a new label called “Sundance” and it is scheduled to be launched very soon. Look out for some fresh tunes and all time underground classics in his technical yet soulful sets which take minimal techno to a new level.
On the same night, wee will also be celebrating the birthdays of our very own residents Archie Hamilton and Wesley Razzy.
Head of vinyl label Moscow Records and Rhythmatic and Vague Resident, Archie Hamilton is London based Dj, A&R and producer, having released on Fear of Flying, District Raw, Lowpitch, High Strings and Moscow Records.
Brazilian born DJ and producer, Rhythmatic and Coconut Ritz resident and a regular name on the line ups of Fabric’s Wet Yourself, Mixmag and Jaded, Wesley performed alongside artists such as Marco Carola, Matthias Tanzmann, Davide Squillace, Onur Ozer, Cassy, Sascha Dive, Lee Foss and many others.
Rumour has it that last year’s final party with Fabio Giannelli was a sell out and this one is set to be no different! Perlon is renowned for the sound quality as well as breathtaking performances and Rhythmatic stays true to its artistic versatility yet undeniable quality of performances coupled with a warm and friendly yet underground atmosphere…..The two bring together all the elements necessary to create an unforgettable night.

After last years sold out Numbers warehouse party with Hud Mo, Rustie and Jamie xx last year, we’re doing it all again on Saturday 8th December.
Switching it up for 2012, we are taking over the Oval Space in Bethnal Green and running with an all secret line-up, featuring some of Numbers’ best known signings, residents, close friends and a few surprises.
Advance tickets are on sale now. You know what to do…

Streets Of Beige round off a fine year with Detroit’s understated genius, Kevin Reynolds.
Having released possibly our favourite EP of 2011 in the shape of Liaisons, he’s crafted a unique soul in his productions that draw in house, techno, soul, ambient and jazz to create a spectral cocktail of analogue warmth and wonder.
This year he released the slow chugging jam ‘Interrupted’ which featured on Love Is All You need VA release alongside Pittsburgh Track Authority, Disco Nihilist and Anaxander.
He’ll be playing a full live set on the night so expect a ton of unreleased jams and plenty of Detroit deepness.
In support we have Meschi of Lux Rec and Boe Recordings fame. When not releasing jacking 707 jams he also runs the sublime This Is Our House site and tinkers with creating analogue machines.
London’s new rising star Palms Trax will be joining label cohort and PPT wreckage Tom Hang for some back to back action. the former channeling Legowelt pads and D’Marc Cantu stomp to devastating effect, whilst the latter eschews production nou for red desk lights and un-quantised carnage.
We also welcome back Free-care aka Nick from Phonica. A long time friend and influence, we’re excited to see what vinyl gems and potions he’ll be bringing to the fold.
And long-time resident Tim Parker will switch up his heavy beats for soulful skits and breaks with a more low-key set to keep us all warm for the live set.

On Saturday 8th November THE PLAYGROUND PR hosts a night of some of the best, unsigned talent from across London at the infamous PROUD GALLERIES. With all 3 artists launching new material, it should make for a very special evening in the famous Horse Stables at PROUD Camden.

Rudi Zygadlo is a musician like no other, taking the fundamentals of Dubstep in a direction that is as unexpected as it is unique, he’s created an amalgamation of pop song writing with Dubstep, rewired using influences as wide as Frank Zappa, Eastern European Classical music and contemporary US Indie. From running warehouse raves to his tracks being played on Radio 1, Alexis Raphael is the epitome of a modern DJ. Alexis’s love of electronic music ignited in the early 90s as he immersed himself in the heyday of London rave culture. Countless hours on the dancefloor were his apprenticeship as a DJ, giving him a clubber’s view of how music can move a crowd, what works, and what stirs the soul.

Penny Drop // FREE // Moustache Bar // Friday 14th December
This will be our last strike for 2012 before going into winter hibernation. We’re ready to take a well-earned seasonal break but before we do we want to feed up on as many high calorie beats and bass lines as we can to keep us going through the winter.
We return to the Moustache Bar
http://moustachebar.com/ where the unique décor creates a precious and charming subterranean space. It may be one of Dalston’s not-so-well-kept secrets but we love its roughshod atmoshpere, making it the perfect choice for another intimate basement jam.
Expect only the best underground Deep, Tech and Straight up House grooves.
// ROGER PORTERFIELD //
Hailing from London’s Leafy suburbs Roger Porterfield earned himself a prolific knowledge of musical theory and composition from a very early age, and it was his ongoing hunt for new and unique sounds at the ripe age of 15 that naturally led him to discover (and begin experimenting with) electronic music. Early inspirations, favoured for their technical prowess included James Zabiela, Rik Parkinson, Tiga and Carl Cox to name a few. His love for dance music developed into a passion for all styles but in particular deep drum & bass; leading to a move to Bristol for a string of gigs and his own night (Champu). Now back in his home town and returning to his roots; Roger Porterfield focuses his musical efforts on the groovy/deeper side of house and techno music, with a vault of technically flawless productions under his belt, expect to see him rocking the Moustache Bar.

Mosca’s tracks are primarily built to power dance floors, but they are also deceptively sophisticated. As both a DJ and a producer, the London-based artist draws influences from dancehall, grime, bassline, UK garage, funky, hiphop and all types of underground deep, soulful techy house, as well as dabbling in techno, world beats and RnB. But having played straight sets of house, bashment or grime, Mosca is no stranger to perfecting a certain sound.

In an age of celebrity DJs there is something uniquely compelling about genuine anonymity – about those that would rather their music do the talking than their PR agency. Despite being widely regarded as one of the leading lights in contemporary house and techno the mystery of Kassem Mosse endures, largely due to his music.
With seminal releases on labels like Workshop, Non Plus and Mikrodisko he has carved a unique niche. Developing a sound that somehow manages to be both sonically cohesive and structurally divergent with tracks that vary between slow-mo, bleary-eyed sludge-fests to wiry, jacked-up workouts and back again, often on the same slab of wax. In 10 years when people look back at this period there is no doubt that he will be one of a handful of producers whose work defines it.
And while we love his records, this live set he’s been doing is something else. With its focus on hardware this is ‘live’ in the truest sense – raw, on the edge of control and different every time. The low-slung tempo and polyrhythms are tribal in the sense that they make us want to take our shirts off and stomp around a bonfire all night. And ultimately isn’t that what this is all about?
Playing alongside Kassem on the night will be one of the underground’s most respected selectors – DJ Deep. Having started his career working alongside Laurent Garnier in Paris in the early 90s, Deep has steadily built a reputation as one of the world’s most consistent, forward thinking DJs. With a focus on quality, as opposed to restrictive genre definitions, Deep is known for his superb taste and dedication to playing only the very best in house and techno from across the decades. Whether that’s a ‘hot off the press’ techno white label from Berlin, a forgotten Detroit classic from the mid-90s or the latest release on his hugely respected Deeply Rooted label the man has got them in his bag. We’ll be giving Deep three hours to close the night with some of the most righteous house and techno you’re ever likely to hear.
Support on the night will come from Make Me residents Rubin, Rupert and Nic Baird – pulling together a unique selection of the deepest in deep house from the farthest reaches of their record collections.
Do not miss it!

2012 has been a vintage year for Solomun. The Hamburg DJ has risen to prominence because of his spellbinding deep house sets and the talent he has brought together on his record label, Diynamic.
We’ve named him our DJ Of The Year and he’ll be proving why at Mixmag Live on Friday December 14. From Berlin to Ibiza, Brazil to Brcelona, Solomun has mesmerised crowds with his warm, funky, highly melodic and totally euphoric sound.
A respected underground producer for a number of years, his recent, stratospheric rise in popularity kicked off last summer with his incendiary remixes of ‘Around’ by Noir & Haze and ‘Corporate Butcher’ by Tiefschwarz. Then when he and the Diynamic crew destroyed our party at Studio 80 during Amsterdam Dance Event 2011, we knew he was set for world domination.
This year he’s turned in a stunning mix CD for Watergate, released the dancefloor smashing ‘Kackvogel’, completed a legendary season at Sankeys Ibiza, sold-out two nights at Amsterdam Dance Event 2012 and made the cover of Mixmag. What more do you need to know? Solomun is the new vanguard for high quality house music. He’ll be rounding off the year in fine style. Support comes from Karmon, a bright young talent currently being nurtured by Solomun’s Diynamic stable as well as rising deep house stars The Mekanism and James Pople. Get your ticket booked now.
2012 has also been an amazing year for the Meadows in the Mountains Festival crew from Bulgaria who will be hosting Lightbox and inviting some of their residents to join guests, Death on the Balcony.
Those attending Mixmag Live will receive a copy of the Solomun issue of Mixmag as well as his incredible cover mix CD.

The final month of The Hydra kicks off with Bugged Out present Night Slugs on Saturday 15th December, which showcases the London imprint’s finest talents and one of their personal heroes. The special guest this time around is Disco enthusiast Soundstream who’s remarkable edits and sample-laden cuts have seen the Panorama Bar affiliate build up a repertoire of buy-on-site releases that bring back hazy memories of yesteryear. Label-heads Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990 are known for their genre-defying sets that can range from Garage to Techno to early UK Grime and have been known to go back to back for hours on end. Jam City’s recent Classical Curves LP has seen the producer come into his own both technically and musically whilst Girl Unit has been playing around with live 808’s and synthesizers by the sounds of his latest Club Rez EP so don’t surprised if he drops the odd Prince tune in his set.

It’s been a while since DJ Friction brought his Shogun Audio clan down to Cable, and We Fear Silence welcomes them back with open arms. This time the DnB legend has invited down the one and only Dub Phizix to lead the proceedings. The mancunian has developed his own blend of DnB, carving a future-facing minimalist approach into the scene and leaving a lasting taste on the tongues of ravers all over the country. Friction adds a 2 hour set in the main room to the mix along with the regular Shogun boys are all in attendance as well including Alix Perez, Spectrasoul, Icicle, Rockwell and more. SP:MC, Mantmast and LX One are on top of all things lyrical and garage stalwart MJ Cole leads the way in room 2 with The Prototypes, El Matador and DJ Friction performing a special freestyle set. To mark this momentous occasion, DAY ZERO festival presents 24 hours of music, performing arts, installations, and spiritual teachings. This once in a lifetime event, by a Mayan pyramid in Playa Del Carmen, will bring together party people for 24 hours, ending at the exact moment the Mayans decreed as the end of this world cycle.
Day Zero offers a forward thinking line up of house and techno acts including Damian Lazarus, Fur Coat, Infinity Ink, Art Department, Subb-An and many more besides. The spirit of the Mayans will represented through dance-performances and Shamanic rituals during the festival, and there will be discussion, yoga, relaxation and spiritual awareness classes to help you forget your real world troubles.

After launching at London’s XOYO to tremendous effect, Born Electric returns to the Capital on Saturday 22nd December, this time hosted at Brixton’s outstanding auditorium Electric. Rocking all the way through to the early hours, Born Electric will feature James alongside some very special guests, delivering a diverse range of beats and cutting-edge sounds that fully illustrate the Born Electric vibe.
As co-owner of seminal label Get Physical (alongside M.A.N.D.Y.), DJ T is recognised as one of the industry’s most influential figures and arrives at Born Electric off the back of the imprint’s 10th Anniversary celebrations. Known for his fine selection of bass and groove, Born Electric will provide the perfect setting for a trademark performance from one of electronic music’s most loved figures.
Co-owner of Hessle Audio alongside Pearson Sound and Ben UFO, Pangaea is known for quality and diversity and for pushing a densely percussive hybrid sound. During 2012, he has performed at festivals such as Bestival, Dimensions, Pukkelpop and Lovebox and released an eight track double EP. With much hype surrounding Pangaea and his current movement, this is a hugely anticipated addition to the Born Electric line-up.
Over the past decade, Glimpse has firmly established himself as one of the UK’s most imaginative, versatile and prolific producers. His deep organic house and techno has gained him respect from a number of different sources, resulting in two successive nominations for DJ Mag’s ‘Best British Producer’ Award. With no sign of slowing down, Glimpse’s performance at Born Electric is not to be missed.

HUGE LINE UP – INTIMATE VENUE – FUNCTION ONE SOUND
London’s No.1 party starters The Doctor’s Orders present the biggest line up of any Hip-Hop NYE party anywhere this year but with the joy of being in an intimate venue for only 300 people with a great Function One sound.
Headlining we have a favourite of The Doctor’s Orders and our dedicated crowd in the shape of super producer Just Blaze. Responsible for many of the biggest Hip-Hop bangers of the last 13+ years by the likes of Jay-Z, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar and Jay Electronica to name just a few he is in London to perform two shows, one for the entire nation on Channel 4’s ‘House Party’ and one for the 300 dedicated heads at our secret location. He has already ripped up four parties for us in the last four years and has always left the dance-floor screaming for more so this is sure to be another huge night for those few lucky enough to attend.
We have a host of other great DJs on the line up who would be worthy of headlining any party but as always The Doctor’s Orders is setting the bar exceptionally high.
DJ MK is a legend of the UK scene. With one of the last real Hip-Hop radio shows in the country on, London’s Kiss FM, and as the official DJ both Dizzies Rascal and Roots Mauna he has done more than most to spread great music throughout these shores and way beyond.
Another man with a huge musical legacy and a worldwide influence is DJ Vadim who will be spinning the last set of the night making sure that the place is kept rocking till the wee hours. Having come to prominence in the hey day of Ninja Tune he has gone on to release several incredible albums under various guises and DJed in nearly every country in the world.
As ever the foundation of any party by The Doctor’s Orders are its residents. Tonight is no exception with Spin Doctor and Chris P Cuts treating what is guaranteed to be a sold out crowd to a wealth of Hip-Hop, Soul and beyond to keep things swinging all the way through to 2013.
