Ground Up launch party with Shenoda (Hypercolour / Losing Suki), Dominique Danielle (Rinse FM) Nice Guy Eddie (BM Soho), Ground Up residents and special guests.
Two rooms of Disco, House & Techno – ground up into the small hours.
————————-10PM – 5AM————————-
(Room 1. UP)
House and techno all night long. For the first instalment, Ground Up welcome Shenoda (Hypercolour, Losing Suki) to headline. A long standing producer for renowned Hypercolour label with recent and key releases on Hypercolour and its sister label Losing Suki. His 2011 ‘Shots’ EP broke into areas way beyond the usual house spheres, with Martyn, Konrad Black, Mosca, and Deetron all being vocal advocates. 2012 has seen Shenoda take a leap into the unknown and the results are currently forming into a release schedule that the most veteran of producers would be envious of. His 2012 ‘On and On’ EP has had support from Huxley, Terrence :Terry: and Matthew Dear to name but a few, as well reaching number 11 in the beatport deep house chart top 100. With other strong releases on 1trax, Fear Of Flying, Connoisseur Recordings and with a track being recently signed to Matthias Tanzmann’s Farbic 65 mix, the second half of 2012 looks like it could complete a defining year for Shenoda. Ears will be tuned in for unreleased material and some huge forthcoming releases in his pipeline which we can’t say much else about for now. Ground Up look forward to have Shenoda down for the launch to give Nomad’s new sound system a proper work out – deep, dubby, groove heavy beats into the early hours. Dominique Danielle (Rinse FM) and Nice Guy Eddie (BM Soho) also keep things bumping and rolling upstairs – two highly talented DJs carefully selected deep from within the London scene who really know their house and techno inside out. Ground Up residents Jdan, Miggy and Stefano Nicolaou provide support upstairs.
(Room 2. ground)
A heady blend of forgotten gems, some vintage vinyl and plenty of new grooves to match – a slick soundtrack of disco, soul and boogie progressing into early and modern sounds of house, garage and disco – think Detroit, New York, Chicago, 90′ – 95′ era house and garage. Ground Up residents Lazy L and Jarvey take control downstairs with support from special guest Delacy (Take The Whole Cake) – a Manchester based party which has been setting standards in the North with genuinely eclectic lineups, a residency at Sankeys and a recent return from hosting a stage at Exit festival 2012 in Serbia. We also welcome Ed Word and Action Jackson (Groove A Lot Records) to East London – two house and disco maestros who have both been making waves at ‘Boogie Nights’ – South London’s answer to the paradise garage.
Come celebrate the Ground Up launch on Saturday 20th October 2012 as we get lost in music during this unmissable and intimate showcase of disco, house and techno from the ground up.

Every year for our Birthday celebrations, we always try to book a genuine legend to headline the event – someone who’s shaped a scene or pioneered a genre. For our first birthday original junglist Shy FX topped the bill. For our 2nd Birthday UK Garage originators MJ Cole and Zed Bias represented. For our 3rd Birthday Grandmaster Flash headlined, and this year we are proud to welcome a legend of the Chicargo house scene Lil’ Louis. Best known for his 1989 hit ‘French Kiss,’ Louis is responsible for countless other club staples, which sound as fresh now in the clubs as they did over 20 years ago.
