To mark 12 months at East Village and 4 years since it’s launch at Bar Rumba (remember that?) The Doctor’s Orders monthly party On The Real are rolling out the red carpet for true Hip-Hop royalty, one third of De La Soul, the mighty plug 3, DJ Maseo!
Having played for The Doctor’s Orders before, we know with Maseo we are guaranteed a packed house and a brilliant night of Hip-Hop new and old from the man that has done as much as any to influence a generation of music lovers with classic albums including ‘Three Feet High & Rising’, ‘De La Soul Is Dead’, ‘Stakes Is High’ & ‘Grind Date’. With a catalogue of his own music and influence to draw on he will be sure to bless the dance-floor with another firing set.
As always our headliner is supported by the strongest line up of residents in the country in the shape of former DMC Champion and your favourite DJ’s favourite DJ the one and only Mr Thing, the man behind the iconic The Doctor’s Orders Spin Doctor and of course the man with the fastest growing reputation in London Chris P Cuts. Making sure the party is in full swing all night is our host with the most the one they call the Trini Gladiata Mc Prankster.
This is certain to be one hell of a party with a true legend of Hip-Hop holiding it down so make sure you get ya tickets quick!!

For our ninth Mixmag Live event we are delighted to welcome a true techno titan in the form of Detroit’s Carl Craig. After recently celebrating the 20th anniversary of his Planet-E imprint, the pioneering producer, composer and DJ will be guest editing a section of the magazine as well as performing a very special show for us at London’s Village Underground.
Hailed as a creative visionary ever since releasing his first track in 1989, under his own name and a variety of aliases (including 69, Paperclip People and Innerzone Orchestra), Carl has been responsible for such classic tracks as ‘Sandstorms’, ‘Throw’ and ‘Bug In A Bassbin’, has remixed everyone from Theo Parrish to LCD Soundsystem – and along the way has even been nominated for a Grammy. He has performed live alongside Villalobos, Luciano, Richie Hawtin, and others and his Planet-E imprint has given a home to a wide range of Detroit-based artists such as Francesco Mora Catlett, Naomi Daniel, Moodyman, and Kevin Saunderson.
Those attending Mixmag Live event will receive a copy of the October issue of Mixmag as well as Carl’s incredible cover mix CD. This night will be part of techno history: be sure you are there.
