The Stowaways’ new single ‘Time For Change’ has finally been released, big and theatrical but pop where it matters, they take influences from Friendly Fires, The Police and Bombay Bicycle Club and top everything off with great vocals.
They’re celebrating the new release with a fully booked summer, they’re playing at Nozstock Festival, Brownstock Festival and have many more gigs planned for September.
Their outstanding live shows have led to them a residency at Brick Lane’s ‘Cafe 1001′, supporting New Young Pony Club at Prague’s prestigious ‘Meet Factory’ and headlining the Roundhouse’s emerging artist industry showcase.
But what you don’t want to miss is their performance at London 2012 Olympics.
Emerging Icons Stage at the Olympics Park is ready and looking hot, The Stowaways are playing on friday the 3rd of August and it’s free!!
“These boys could be one small break away for getting proper big” Crack Magazine
“Crisp tight arrangements and fresh, vigorous musicianship, topped off by lovely impassioned vocals. An emerging London band to watch with interest in 2012.” Tom Robinson (BBC 6Music)
“An inventive breakdown marks this one out from the crowd of young pretenders as something with a bit more meat.” Glasswerks

Layo and Bushwacka! are back with another awesome party with ‘Shake it presents’. The crowd will be treated to one of their legendary ‘All night’ sets from sunset to sunrise and will be joined by some serious underground talent. Following his last sensational Shake It appearance, very special guest Paco Osuna joins the duo… On the terrace, the Leading Astray collective take control.

DISCO DEVIANCE PARTY FEAT JG WILKES (OPTIMO) + MORE
Friday 10th August
JG Wilkes (Optimo, Espacio)
Pete Herbert
DIcky Tricso
Vanguard (Live)
Pop Campaign (Live)
Label imprint Disco Deviance head a Friday night takeover bringing Pete Herbert, Dicky Trisco and JG Wilkes (one half of legendary clubbing institution Optimo) to our Dalston basement. Optimo’s last outing at The Nest proved heavy so doors are swung wide open for JG Wilkes return. With a 2-decade deep history in Clubland and an influence stretching across the Scottish border JG Wilkes’ time spent on both sides of the DJ booth has given him a clear vision of the dancefloor’s needs and wants.
Stepping into the roster as well is Pete Herbert. With an equally as impressive clubbing history, Herbert’s past producer aliases as Reverso 68 (with Phil Mason) and LSB (with Baby G) released on the mighty Eskimo Recordings has given him grounds to have London at his feet. Dicky Trisco also supports bringing a dose of cosmic and electro disco to the night’s mix. Live pop beats are provided by Vanguard and Pop Campaign.

FRIDAY AUGUST 3
KDMS ALBUM LAUNCH PARTY FEAT LITTLE BOOTS AND ALEXIS (HOT CHIP) + KDMS (LIVE) + WILLY
MOON (LIVE) + LOVERPROOF (LIVE)
Sky-high from the backing of some of the blogosphere’s most reputable voices, indie-disco duo KDMS are readying to take their underground electro sound to the live club scene as they launch their debut LP at The Nest. Out on the much-hyped Gomma label, big things are expected from this pairing’s first album.
Featuring the vox of Hot Chip frontman Alexis Taylor (who’s incidentally down on this party’s billing) and with support from Radio 1 queen Annie Mac, the launch party will no doubt live up to the deep and dirty beat of the album: ‘Kinky Dramas and Magic Stories’. Glamorous pop siren Little Boots will also be up on deck duties selecting suitable electro sounds with the young beat-fashionista Willy Moon playing live before.

For this special night, we will be commandeering the well-known East London clubbing spot East Village. The venue is located right in the heart of Shoreditch, and what with it being kitted out with a funktion one sound system and sexy, chic ‘NYC’ style décor, this place certainly is the perfect home for our celebrations.

We at Corsica Studios are very excited to announce that as well as putting together a salivating festival line up to honor their tenth birthday, Supersonic are expanding their celebrations beyond one weekend, for the first time ever, hosting two very special taster shows in London and Birmingham in August.

You must have been hiding somewhere pretty remote over the past few years to miss the fact that something serious is going down in Bristol.
The perpetual stronghold of all things bass has almost out of nowhere become a hotbed of forward thinking house and techno production – with Kowton being one of the key protagonists in this creative transformation.
Both his solo productions and his collaborations with fellow Bristolians such as Peverelist translate the sub bass dynamics and aesthetic sensibilities of purist sound system shakers into a low-slung, bump and groove that can really only be described as house music.
Couple this with recent mixes that have demonstrated an even broader musical palate (including direct references to such varied luminaries as DJ Qu, Skudge and Regis) and all of a sudden you’re looking at one of the most intriguing young prospects that British club music has produced in some time.
Kowton will be bringing 2 hours of West Country heat to the Basing House Funktion 1.
We urge you not to miss out.

A landmark, showcase event from Hypercolour in Londons brand new 3,000 capacity dance arena ‘The Hub’ at London Pleasure Gardens featuring 2 of the most iconic names in dance music.
For those in the know, Hypercolour has long been a purveyor of the finest in House & Techno, counting the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Huxley, Axel Bowman and Mosca amongst their number for some time now.
However the eyes of the wider music world have recently fixed firmly on the small indie label, run by Jamie Russell and Alex Jones, as the mighty Groove Armada selected the imprint as the platform upon which to enter the next phase of their evolution and spark a dramatic reconnection with the underground.

FRIDAY 17th AUGUST
BOYSNOIZE RECORDS PARTY FEAT STRIP STEVE + SCNTST + COIN OPERATED BOY + LE BRETON + CELLAR DOOR LIVE TAKEOVER (LIVE) + KLUMZY TUNG
Our dancefloor’s readying for a severe beating as Boysnoize Records descend onto The Nest this August to launch own-boy’s Strip Steve’s latest LP ‘Micro Mega’. With a credited CV longer than most 25-year old’s (bringing out his first release on BNR in 2008 as well as collaborating with Ridha himself on arguably the hottest dance track of 2009 ‘Power’), Strip Steve’s debut LP featuring the talents of Audionite, Les Petitis Pilous and Gunrose is eagerly awaited by the world’s house & techno heads.
Also down for the party is fellow Boysnoize signee SCNTST. One of techno’s freshest faces at only 19, his avant-garde approach to a sound that’s been on the DJ-circuit decades before he was even born makes SCNTST a producer and artist not to override. The much-hyped Coin Operated Boy also joins the line up, bringing with him his branch of forward thinking melodic club music. Jersey-raised and now Bristol-based DJ LeBreton fills support with Cellar Door Live Takeover and Klumzy Tung repping beginning stage slots.

We are absolutely thrilled to announce the most exciting line up to take it to the stage this summer! Be at KOKO on the 18th of August to catch the hip hop party of the season, featuring some of the UK’s biggest and baddest acts; cats who have made history on the wheels of steel and who leave audiences slack jawed, sore and wanting more with nothing but two turntables, a mixer, and a total mastery of that boom bap thang.
DJ Vadim is amongst the heralded few who can count themselves as true innovators and one of the hardest working men in show business. Never predictable, he rips the rule-book to pieces, unleashing a barrage of killer grooves from genres as varied as hip hop, soul, funk, grime, reggae, trip hop and bass music; he never runs out of ideas. Vadim draws upon several lifetimes’ worth of experience: his project is now approaching its twentieth year and has seen him tour across more than sixty countries and perform over two and a half thousand times. A true scholar and a musical titan, every performance is guaranteed to be an experience.
One of the most highly regarded DJs to ever come out of the UK, DJ Format is sure to set the venue alight with bombastic grooves, catchy basslines and body rocking beats so funky you’re certain to be fronting in the b-boy stance before you know it! Never one to rest on his laurels, he’ll brandish the hallmarks of his Simonsound audio-visual set – a collaborative project between DJ Format and Simon James described by DJ Spinna as “a refreshing mesh of the past, present and the future. It’s like Mort Garson rocking shell toe Adidas with fat laces blasting into the galaxy in a funky space ship.” Casi nada.
Joining them is fellow heavyweight and the former DMC Champion Mr Thing, who has established himself equally as an absolute virtuoso behind the wheels and as one of most consistent purveyors of infectious grooves in the UK. One of the world’s eminent DJs, his skill and utmost respect for the material never fail to shine through. Heavyweight material.

Brooklyn four-piece Fast Year are playing at Pianos an interesting bi-level venue opened in an old piano shop in New York on friday the 24th of August.
Fast Years plays a mix of 80′s Punk, Surf Pop, and Indie Garage, with influences ranging from The Sonics to The Exploding Hearts to The Vaccines.
Their first ever live show in January to a packed house alongside the white-hot Howler in Brooklyn, crept into the Hype Machine’s Top 15 Most Popular Tracks list, was featured on Amazing Radio UK and Q Radio’s New to Q program, played the Burning Ear’s SXSW showcase, as well as picking up the following praise:
“The track goes near polar-throwback in it’s tendencies towards nostalgic Garage and Pop. Especially for those letting a renaissance of bands like The Vaccines still sink in” – Blah Blah Blah Science
“sufficient bark to their garage stomp to merit a listen” – NME Radar Tip Of The Day
“Young Heart is a mile-a-minute, hook-a-plenty, good time jam that’s got us hot under the collar just now.” – Laissez Faire Club
“along the lines of Japandroids meets The Strokes meets The Vaccines – which we might broadly describe as a brilliant lo-fi sound…No doubt they will be here, there and everything sooner rather than later, but with tunes like these we’re sure as shit not complaining about it.” – Killing Moon

On Friday 24th August 2012, TROUBLE VISION returns to Corsica Studios for our 3rd annual ‘Carnival Warm Up Party,’ primed to kick start your August Bank holiday in style.
For this event every year we try to put a carivalesque, tropical spin on the lineup, and on this occasion we feel we’ve done just that. Headlining the event we are extremely proud to announce that a true British musical institution and global figurehead for jazz, world, dance music and beyond; Gilles Peterson, will be topping the bill for a rare club appearance. For an insight into Gilles’ eclecticism, tune into his weekly BBC 6 Music show every Saturday afternoon.
In support in room 1, flying in from Detroit USA we are very excited to welcome DJ Dez Andrés. Andrés aka DJ Dez, is one of the unsung heroes of underground Detroit music. Having started his career as the DJ for Slum Village, (J. Dilla’s hop hop outfit before going solo,) Andrés has established himself as a solo artist too, and has built up a catalogue that blurs the boundaries between hip hop, house, soul and beyond, most notably on labels like Moodymann’s KDJ and Mahogani Music. Earlier this year he released an EP on his own label La Vida, the lead track of which, ‘New For U,’ so far has widely been regarded as the track of the year.
In room 2, proceedings will take on a more UK slant with two up and coming talents from the underground. The first needs little introduction, T.Williams. Known for his bumpy take on UK rooted house music, and his superbly curated Rinse FM show, T, knows how to get a room moving. In support we welcome BrEaCh, the more 4/4 orientated project from Ben Westbeech. Having burst onto the scene under this new alias in 2010 with ‘Fatherless,’ Breach has kept his foot on the gas with releases on Dirtybird, PTN, 2020 Vision and most recently his own label ‘Naked Naked.’
With our trusty residents filling the gaps, and with tickets starting at just £8, this promises to be the perfect way to kickstart your August Bank holiday.

On Friday 24th August the opening party of Broken & Uneven’s The Hydra series takes place, hosted by Berlin’s Ostgut Ton – bringing over their label mainstays Marcel Dettmann, Marcel Fengler, Prosumer and Nick Hoppner to fly the flag for one of the most-revered Techno labels in recent times. We have also enlisted special guest Surgeon to join them and as fans of his lengthy body of work can attest, he pulls no punches when it comes to the art of Techno. This first night also sees some very special live art – an on-the-night mural by infamous street artists (and recent subject of TV’s ‘The Apprentice’) Pure Evil, whose signature prints are the perfect example of the high standard of creativity that’s bursting from East London’s pores right now..

South West Four returns to London’s scenic Clapham Common this August, firmly established as one of the UK’s most important and influential electronic music festivals. After recently being awarded DJ Magazine’s coveted ‘Best British Festival’ at the Best of British Awards, this year’s offering will close what will be a truly monumental summer for the Capital.
For the first time in our nine year history, the Clapham carnage will cease at 10pm. That’s an extra hour to indulge in the scintillating sights and sounds of the UK’s premier inner city music event. So with an extra sixty minutes to play with, this year’s line-up will be our biggest ever, showcasing an array of prime international artists on a scale never before experienced at SW4. Inspirational talent synonymous with South West Four’s success, are joined by a host of DJ debuts and manic live acts. Furthermore with improved sound levels, a freeze on 2011 ticket prices and numerous other enhancements, SW4 2012 will bring to the English summer an even greater festival experience.
For Saturday’s coveted headline slot we’re privileged to welcome the world’s most exciting live electronic act, the enigmatic Chase & Status in their biggest ever headline London show. For this emotional homecoming, expect an intense immersive ethos incorporating raging riffs and high octane breakdowns. This frenetic formula earned their acclaimed album ‘No More Idols’ double platinum status and a ‘Best British Group’ nomination at The Brit Awards 2012.
Their baffling, on-the-fly manipulation of dirty, ferocious beats, has also attracted a devoted global fan base, who live and breathe that tumultuous bass driven sound. It’s no wonder, Mixmag nominated Chase & Status for their ‘Greatest Dance Act Of All Time.’ But let’s cut to the chase! With a status as one of the most innovative producers of their generation, this homecoming is preceded by a host of monumental global gigs.
Before shaking Clapham to the core, Chase & Status will headline Miami’s ‘Ultra Music Festival’ and Australia’s flagship ‘Future Music Festival.’ The ten thousand mile distance symbolic of their present standing. Iconic postcode SW4 falls nicely in the centre, a subliminal message maybe as this will be the focal point for Chase & Status’ shining summer activities. A must attend gig for fans of the band and electronic music lovers alike, we look forward to welcoming you all to SW4 2012.

Furthermore with improved sound levels, a freeze on 2011 ticket prices and numerous other enhancements, SW4 2012 will bring to the English summer an even greater festival experience.
Day one of SW4 2012 will welcome 35 prime international artists across four stages. The world’s most exciting live electronic act, the enigmatic Chase & Status, take Saturday’s coveted main stage closing slot, in their biggest ever headline London show. They will be joined by the legendary Carl Cox, who returns to SW4 after headlining the festival in 2006 and 2008, in his ONLY UK Festival performance this year. Pendulum duo Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen’s huge new electro house project Knife Party debuts at SW4 this year, as does Benny Benassi whose cheeky re-work of Marshall Jefferson’s classic ‘Move Your Body’, is odds on to be the 2012 summer scorcher. They’ll be joined by Toolroom Knight’s top dog Mark Knight and the superb John Dahlbäck in two bookings that Clapham’s house heads have yearned for. Radio 1’s brilliant Zane Lowe can also be found on Saturday’s main stage bill, as well as top secret project Let The Music Play in a world exclusive.
With Erick Morillo’s DJ set one of the ‘must see’ performances in London this summer, it makes perfect sense for ‘Subliminal’, his Pacha Ibiza night and trend setting label to host its own arena. Erick’s set will be his first London performance in over seventeen months and only UK festival appearance of 2012. Erick will also play a second set on the day along with cohorts Harry ‘Choo Choo’ Romero and Jose Nunez. In its UK debut, the talented trio play as ‘Sympho Nympho’, a new project that is guaranteed to have maximum impact. They are joined by the big breakdowns, raring build ups and tribal vibes of fellow US legend Roger Sanchez, the supremely talented and one half of Duck Sauce aka A-Trak, plus some of the best new names in house music: An21 & Max Vangelli, Funkagenda, Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano, Eva Simons and Tim Mason.
Paul van Dyk and London institution ‘The Gallery’ join forces at SW4 2012 to present the biggest trance lineup in London this year. Paul headlines the ‘Evolution’ arena, named after his ground breaking new album, a sonic masterpiece that has been five years in the making. Featuring a further array of talent, expect a host of broody, melodic madness from Markus Schulz, The Gallery’s international resident who last ripped up SW4 in 2009. Fresh new music from Garuda’s trance God Gareth Emery, plus Aly & Fila, John O’ Callaghan, Richard Durand, Claudia Cazacu and Gary Proud.
John Digweed plays his seventh consecutive SW4, more than any other artist, this time to host the Bedrock International arena. Bursting at the seams with the best in underground house and techno DJs, John will feature besides Guy Gerber, Âme, Robert Babicz [Live], Laura Jones, jozif and Joris Voorn, who returns in 2012 to demonstrate his rare talent which has helped craft a lasting legacy.
The pantheon of electronic artists, these acts will elevate SW4 2012 to stratospheric heights.
South West Four 2012: It’s Time.

On Saturday 25th August our good friends A Bunch Of Cuts will be celebrating the album launch for DRS’ new offering on the Marcus Intalex’s Soul:r imprint as the second event of Broken & Uneven’s ‘The Hydra’ series. South West More has become somewhat of an institution in recent years, the culmination of an epic August Bank Holiday weekend on Clapham Common. Traditionally hosted at one of the capital’s finest nightclubs, the all night affair has previously welcomed the likes of Richie Hawtin, Layo & Bushwacka!, M.A.N.D.Y. and Matthew Dear to headline proceedings. 2012 will be no different as many of the world’s leading electronic names head straight from the festival to enjoy more beats, more bass and more bedlam. This is SWMore.
Sasha is South West Four’s favourite son. The DJ powerhouse has been responsible for many of SW4’s most memorable moments and is fully entrenched into Clapham folklore. His inimitable atmospheric sound and transcendental synths enables him to connect with the dancefloor like no other. Having blown everyone away at SW4 he represents the perfect headliner; get set to be mesmerised once again.
SWMore is delighted to welcome the world’s undisputed ambassador for electronic dance music, Pete Tong. At SW4 2012 Pete host an arena at the festival for the first time, with the Clapham Common lineup representing the biggest All Gone Pete Tong party to date. With many of the guests also featuring at the after-party, SWMore is set to be just as big. To borrow that well known phrase, this will be Essential!
As one of the most important new figureheads of underground electronic music to emerge in recent years, SWMore is delighted to welcome Scuba. The Hotflush Recordings boss and Berghain Berlin resident has been instrumental in shaping London and Berlin’s musical landscape, having released some of the most important and experimental music of the past few years. Prepare to be blown away by this superlative talent.
Having tore the roof off Electric Brixton at Easter whilst supporting Carl Cox, it’s only fitting that Dyed Soundorom returns for SWMore. A firm favourite on the White Isle, Dyed has been smashing DC10 all summer as part of his superb Circo Loco residency. As a DJ he brings an enthusiastic mix of style and passion, certain to enlighten SWMore on Bank Holiday Sunday.
Guaranteed to leave you hungry for more following his SW4 debut earlier in the day, it’s a huge privilege to welcome the brilliant Eats Everything to SWMore. Signed to Claude Von Stroke’s acclaimed Dirtybird label and recognised as one of THE breakthrough acts of recent years, Eats was voted ‘Best New Producer’ at the most recent DJ Mag ‘Best of British’ awards, whilst his plethora of impressive releases, most notably ‘Entrance Song’, are further evidence of his outrageous talent.
London duo Eli and Fur complete the SWMore lineup. Their sets are influenced by a wide range of electronic music, from old school Chicago classics to contemporary house and tech house. Having made beats for the past seven years they are now ready to step in to the limelight and showcase their unique talent to the world.

After recently being awarded DJ Magazine’s coveted ‘Best British Festival’ at the Best of British Awards, this year’s offering will close what will be a truly monumental summer for the Capital.

So with an extra sixty minutes to play with, this year’s line-up will be our biggest ever, showcasing an array of prime international artists on a scale never before experienced at SW4. Furthermore with improved sound levels, a freeze on 2011 ticket prices and numerous other enhancements, SW4 2012 will bring to the English summer an even greater festival experience.
A warm Clapham welcome for Skrillex, his complex bass orientated sound set to headline the hotly anticipated UKF Bass Culture main stage on day two of SW4. Londoners are already familiar with his mystical melange, following two recent sell-out shows at the iconic Brixton Academy. The rousing reaction of ten thousand electronic enthusiasts meant Skrillex for SW4 became an absolute necessity. Hence making this even more mouth watering, an EXCLUSIVE London festival appearance! A real musical coup for Clapham, continuing South West Four’s heritage of showcasing the most revolutionary DJs. Scheduled to close Sunday’s alfresco action, Skrillex’s set will be a frenetic homage to cutting edge dubstep, electro, glitch and grime. Expect the obligatory heart thumping bass lines, trashing the traditional 4/4 rhythm with a mesmeric array of stutters and stops. Plus huge gut wrenching breakdowns and chaotic riffs, complete this incapacitating package. Set to pummel Clapham Common into submission, this is a performance guaranteed to go down as one of the greatest in SW4 history. You have been warned.
