Ikonika’s unique synth driven productions and razor sharp dj sets have established her as one of the major talents in the UK’s electronic music scene.
Following her debut album for Hyperdub, she set up the Hum + Buzz imprint with like minded dj/producer Optimum (Night Slugs/Planet Mu), overseeing excellent releases from the likes of Brenmar and Dro Carey. The label’s next release comes from Ikonika herself, and to mark this the Hum + Buzz duo are throwing their first club night, playing alongside a specially selected line up of DJs.
Anyone who has seen Mr Beatnick play live or listened to his NTS show will know that he is a man of eclectic and impeccable taste. Production wise he specialises in deep, soulful house affairs such as Sun Goddess and Synthetes, which are gaining him the attention he richly deserves.
Also channelling house, albeit from a darker and harder angle, is Alex D££mnds, whose debut release, Credentials, found its way onto Martyn’s Radio 1 Essential Mix earlier this year.
Finally, former Battant member and Weatherall collaborator Timothy J. Fairplay will be bringing his special brand of analogue jams to the mix after recent releases for World Unknown, Astro Lab and Bird Scarer. Support on the night comes from the LDN DC residents DRX, Tramshed and Valdar.

We could not be more excited to have NY house DJ The Juan Maclean behind the decks. Part of the DFA family, Juan Maclean’s (aka John MacLean) soul-blend of early 90s disco-house and electro has seen him continually on the up throughout the last few years. Playing The Nest’s launch way-back-when; we know how good this guy can be.
In support is another from the New York/DFA faithful: Shit Robot. Taking his share of the disco, house and electro sound, his productions and re-works soundtrack dancefloors across the board.
Analogue synth wielding, tape loop layering and post-punk vocal crooning band Factory Floor are also on board and set to perform a rare live dance set. Keeping it local in their East London hub, they debut at The Nest with their DFA label mates for a Lovebox after party blow out that is not to be missed!
Rory Phillips completes the DJ bill while London based electronic live duo Plant Plants kick start the liveness.
