The Nest presents Russ Yallop + Maxxi Soundsystem
Friday 27th January
Certified Crosstown Rebel and man behind that warm, deeply charming house music with boundless energy, Russ Yallop, returns to The Nest for the final instalment of new Friday night showcases. Just as the Crosstown heat had positively infected almost every house music fan on the planet, Russ Yallop dropped ‘I Can’t Wait’ on the imprint and his career has spiralled out of control ever since. A number of quality EP releases have ensued and the ‘drunk on vocals’ house producer is looking to drop a debut album in the New Year.
Maxxi Soundsystem’s edit of 80s soul classic ‘Criticise’ got jacked, wheeled and reloaded by practically every nu-disco DJ in the country this year. Since then the Brighton based producer has held down DJ sets in the country’s most progressive clubs and festivals, released on the likes of Moda, Southern Fried and Needwant Records and been welcomed into Bristol’s leading house music family, Future Boogie. He will be joined by Oxford based duo Casino Times (whose MJ Cole and Missy Elliot bootlegs have enjoyed viral success) and fellow deep house, Southern Fried releaser Caze Nove.
