House legend Jesse Rose returns to The Nest for a headline show.
The man behind tunes like “Touch my Horn” and “Forget My Name” has been busy working on new material, not to mention running his label “Made To Play” (Oliver $ anyone?). He ushered in the new year with us and did a mighty fine job, so we asked him to come back. He duly obliged.
Joining Jesse is Italian house magician, Solo and upcoming star Isa GT, who’s upcoming EP “Leyanda” has been causing a stir within the club scene.

Our DRUM N BASS VS. DUBSTEP WARS! line-up has been carefully selected to take you on an intense journey throughout the night and features a long list of artists making waves on the scene right now.
Kicking off the night comes from none other than MT. EDEN who will be playing their debut UK show. Currently selling out shows across the world and back with new tracks that are fiercer than ever alongside a live show that slips enough pills into dance music pint until you are left curled up in the corner of the room with rocks dangly bits in your mouth, we present to you headliner after headliner with featured sets from GOLDIE, EMALKAY, 16 BIT, TROLLEY SNATCHA, SKisM, BARE NOIZE, SUKH KNIGHT, STENCHMAN and loads more @ KOKO on Saturday the 12th November.
►GOLDIE – Pioneer in Drum n’ Bass and jungle music Goldie has worked alongside Rob Playford, Heist, David Bowie and BET’s Lifetime Achievement Awarded KRS-One. Former leader of Rufige Kru and founder of Metalheadz Records in 1994, Goldie helped popularize drum’ n’ bass as a form of musical expression. Familiar with success, Goldie’s album ‘Timeless’ hit the 7th place in the UK’s album chart in 1995 after releasing Terminator, pioneering the use of time stretching.
►MT. EDEN – Mt Eden is a world renowned dubstep and drum ‘n’ bass duo from New Zealand. In 2009 they had released a free debut album called Mount Eden, which stands for the name of a ‘cinder cone’ and surrounding suburb in Auckland City their hometown. Apart from producing his own tracks such the instant hit ‘Still Alive’, which overtake more than 20 million views on YouTube, he also has remixed tracks for artists like The Prodigy ‘Omen’, Bat For Lashes ‘Daniel’, Sigur Ros ‘Saeglopur’, and Madonna ‘Frozen’. Mt. Eden certainly made history for the fellow mass YouTube and dubstepped his way up the ladder of notorious views and astonished mankind.
►EMALKAY – Birmingham-based Dubstep producer signed to Boka and founder of his own label Morphic Sounds before settling down at Dub Police, Emalkay confirmed his name when the phenomenal When I Look At You was released in 2009. Experimenting with rhythmic, compositional and sonic qualities, choosing carefully the tracks he remixes – Watercolour from Pendulum, Sun to Me from Faithless – he is always moving forward while staying true to his sound.
►16 BIT – 16bit is DRT and Kidnappa a heavy Dubstep twosome from the UK. The duo have been putting on some temperature-checking sets around the world and getting their dubplates spun out by some of the scene’s names like Chef and Rusko. They have had releases on a variety of labels such as Boka Records, Destpub, Urban Essentials, Sequence, and on the legendary Southside Dubstars. In 2010 16 Bit’s track ‘Jump’ was featured in the highly circulated Nike ad, and a remix appearance on Plan B’s She Said EP.
►TROLLEY SNATCHA – Originally from Northampton and currently releasing on Dub Police, Trolley Snatcha used to drum n’ bass with his childhood friends, Doctor P and Flux Pavilion. The DJ assessed his belonging to dubstep with massive productions such as The Future or Bigman Vulture. Between the release of its last EP ‘One Tricky Pony’ and prestigious guest mixes including Contact and Hold On, the dj is unstoppable.
►BARE NOIZE Since their ‘Dance In Dark’ remix first surfaced in 2009, the electronic calamity that is Bare Noize (Ollie Pile and Daniel Brown) have gained support from the likes of Crookers, DJ Zinc and Joker as well as remixes for high-profile artists including Skrein, M’Black and Foreign Beggars.
►SUKH KNIGHT – is a dubstep & Drum ‘n’ Bass producer from East London. At first keen on grime music thanks to Scratcha/DVA, he tried with success to develop the genre incorporating his Asian influences. Member of the MDK Cartel and recently linked up with Ges-e, he is mostly known for mixes such as Spliff Dub.
►SKISM – is a London based DJ and producer who has rapidly cemented himself in the darker side of the Dubstep scene. Signed for ‘Never Say Die’ record label, he’s ranked as one of the Top Dubstep DJ’s and Producers worldwide, along with Datsik, Excision and Skream as well as putting his inimitable production style on the vocal talents of UK rappers the Foreign Beggars & Envy. Blazing trails through filthy, grimey, dubstep gigs across all over the world, SKisM’s frantic 3 deck DJ Sets has gained notoriety as fast as his musical output.
►STENCHMAN – Dubstep DJ and Dover resident, Stenchman joined Bovinyl Moosick, Prime Audio and True Tiger labels. The mysterious masked man have done remixes for Diplo, Wu Tang Clan, Robyn, Yasmin and Enter Shikari amongst others.
►ARTIFICIAL INTELIGENCE – Hailing from North London, Artificial Intelligence are a drum and bass production duo comprising of Zula Warner and Glenn Herweijer. Over the years A.I have dabbled with renowned labels, releasing remixes of some of the biggest dance and hip hop tracks of the past few years including Kelis’s Trick Me, Eric Prydz Slamming’ and more recently Fat Freddys Drop Cays Crays.
►METRIK – From Guildford, Surrey. The drum n’ bass DJ caught the ear of Viper Recordings in 2008 and released the epic Movin On/ Stranger with the label. The hit is followed by Your World, Technicolour, Time to Change and many more. This culminated in Radio 1′s poignant use of the track as a sound bed on their coverage of Barrack Obama’s victory speech on Colin Murray’s show. With his name on the lips of the world’s biggest DJ’s, Metrik is much in demand as remixer, being the first port of call for artists such as Eric Prydz, Sasha, Stanton Warriors, Funkstar Deluxe & Skepta.
►MC MAKSIM – The London-based dubstep, drum n’ bass and hip-hop DJ counts forthcoming releases in 2011 with Buygore, Play Me, Audio Phreaks, Dubline and Betamorph Records. He has performed alongside Skrillex, Roksonix, Original Sin, MRK1 and many more.
Though the cold, steely sound of his music might call to mind cities like Sheffield or Berlin, Xhin hails from the balmy island country of Singapore. At home, he’s a rare outpost of purist techno, but his records and live sets have struck a chord across Europe and even North America, earning him gigs from Berghain in Berlin to The End Up in San Francisco. Since 2009 he’s been a cornerstone of Stroboscopic Artefacts, the Berlin-based label run by DJ and producer Lucy. For a more in-depth look at Xhin, peruse our Breaking Through feature on him from last year.
Sword will be Xhin’s third full-length, following his 2004 self-released debut and 2008′s Greyscale, released on Meerestief Records. A launch party will take place the day after it’s released at Corsica Studios in London, with Xhin playing alongside Lucy, Pfirter and Inigo Kennedy. Visuals on the night will be provided by Oblivious Artefacts, the label’s in-house design team.
Room 2 at Corsica will see a very exciting addition to the party, Fachwerk Records! Fachwerk consistently deals in heavy techno sounds that are doused in dub and finished with an analogue authenticity which set them apart from the crowd. One of the most prominent Berlin labels of recent times, it’s run by the triumvirate of DJing and production talent that is Dehnert, Roman Lindau and Sascha Rydell. After Dehnert’s amazing performance for us at EarToGround earlier in the year we just had to get label pals Sascha and Roman to come and play this time.
Its the first time you’ll find Stroboscopic and Fachwerk under the same roof. Brought together by EarToGround.
The killer Funktion One across both rooms is in for a serious workout!

On Friday November 25th we are extremely proud to present the second edition of UNTERTON, Ostgut Ton’s label showcase night at Corsica Studios. After the resounding success of the FUNF birthday celebrations last November and the overwhelming response to the first edition of UNTERTON back in June it was clear that the Ostgut Ton artists and ethos were perfectly suited to Corsica’s raw and stripped down surroundings and its impeccable sound systems and it was only a matter of time before another visit was in order.
