Beat The Heat Festival 1–3/8/2011
1/8/2011 – Dash Berlin
2/8/2011 – Benny Benassi
3/8/2011 – Sander Van Doorn
Beat the Heat Festival will open on 1/8 with the biggest star of the trance scene – Dash Berlin! This Dutch, who entered the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs as No. 15 and the best new entry of all times, will be playing in Croatia for the first time. He is currently working with the greatest trance record label in the world – Armada Music – founded by Armin van Buuren.
This summer the Aquarius club has something new to offer – trance gigs. Following the world trends and huge popularity of trance music, especially in the summer destinations, we have decided to invite more trance performers to the club.
After Dash Berlin, the club will host the ultimate electro star, Italian electro house producer and deejay Benny Benassi. This is going to be his third gig at the summer residence of the Aquarius club. He became widely popular in 2002 with his track “Satisfaction” and gained even more popularity in 2008 as a Grammy award winning DJ when he did a fantastic remix of Public Enemy’s “Bring the Noise”. This summer the famous Italian will be playing at two Aquarius festivals and enjoying the great atmosphere of the club. So if you miss his first gig, or if you want to re-live the experience, come to the Moonsplash Festival on 14/8/2011.
Another leading performer of the electro scene is coming to Aquarius this summer – Sander Van Doorn. Sander is an outstanding DJ and producer almost without competition. He is widely acclaimed as a true technical and musical genius and one of the most influential and most popular DJ/producers. He is certainly one of the top 10 DJs in the world, excellent producer and currently at the very peak of his career. He has performed at some of the best festivals in the world such as Trance Energy, Sensation, Nature One and many others. In 2009 he won the Best Breakthrough DJ Award at the International Dance Music Awards in Miami.

After the success of “EPISODE IV” Idiosynphonic have teamed up with the mighty DnbNoize crew to bring you a sizzling summer smasher of big bass and rolling beats. This time we’ll be switching things up from right across the spectrum of drum & bass//dubstep & heavyweight old timers//fast rising new stars.

To celebrate the event we’re putting together a very special lineup. SO FAR we have two very notorious names in UK Techno, Inigo Kennedy and Shifted! Both need very little introduction.
Inigo: Inigo Kennedy is a pioneering and respected techno and electronic music producer and DJ. He is well known for always bringing technical and creative originality and skill to his work. He is the owner of the innovative and genre defying label Asymmetric. He has also been responsible for a large and diverse back catalogue of releases on a wide variety of labels and projects around the World. His discography stretches to almost 100 releases on vinyl, CD and as MP3. His DJ schedule has taken him to all corners of the World.

Shifted: Recent releases on Avain, Naked Index, Syndrome Z, Two EP’s on Mote Evolver and now an amazing remix for us on EarToGround. Recently he had his first CLR Podcast and soon will be making his debut at Berghain in Berlin. Forthcoming remix work for Jonas Kopp, m_rec and Our Circula Sound. Also look out for his new Pacific Blue imprint with covers more dance floor orientated Techno as apposed to the deeper Shifted sound. Shifted is certainly is hitting it hard this year, in a short space of time he has well and truly made his mark. A major player set for very big things.

Dalston’s Deadly People join up with Brooklyn’s Trouble & Bass to present their summer party at XOYO on Friday, August 12th.
Drop The Lime, Bart B More and AC Slater are three brilliant in-form DJs and producers who recently collaborated in New York and created some mighty tunes. Forming a great friendship the three of them hit us up to throw two sweaty parties in London and Amsterdam to celebrate.
Thank f*** for that friendship. Normally we could only put one of these DJs on at XOYO so we’re absolutely ecstatic to have them all playing within intimate surroundings. It’s going to be huge.
Drop The Lime (New York) recently signed a worldwide deal with Ultra Recordings (home to Deadmau5, Tiesto, Wolfgang Gartner) with his brand new album out in Autumn. His rockabilly enthused club music is taking the world by storm right now and the his DJ performances moving into legendary status.
Bart B More (Amsterdam) is at the peak of his powers. From being Laidback Luke’s favourite DJ to being amongst the elite of international electronic producers with everything he’s creating being in high demand. Be very excited about Bart’s set.
AC Slater (New York) is guaranteed to blow the roof off any venue. His production and remix credits are endless and his touring scheduled is non-stop. He delivers straight up, hard hitting sets that leave no one disappointed.
Get ready to make some noise. More details to follow regarding the joint single.

Alongside the Native residents this August, we are seriously excited to have two incredible new talents in Disclosure and Bobby Tank.
Disclosure: although still relatively unknown these two brothers have already seen their imaculate future garage sound recieve airplay from Annie Mac. Need we say more?
Bobby Tank is on some next level of production. I’m not even going try to describe the sound. Put it this way, it ain’t head music, it’s booty music. It’s gonna get serious!
Make certain that you listen to these two Soundcloud links. If not for us then for your own well being.

These kids need no introduction. Under the watchful eye of Dennis Ferrer, they have progressed into one of the most dominant pairings in house music today. Watch them behind the decks: they don’t stop moving. Lean, lanky, all wrists and elbows and ear-to-ear grins. They’re practically climbing over each other as records flow together, one brother cueing up a track, the other EQing, the headphones passed back and forth, forearms intertwined, heads bobbing in unison. It’s amazing to watch. Even more amazing to hear.
All eyes are on Hypercolour right now. They are without doubt one of the hottest label stables coming out of London. With a heavy release schedule taking in the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Axel Boman and label head Alex Jones himself, it doesn’t look like they’ll be easing up anytime soon!

SPECTRUM
Friday 26th August 2011
10pm-6am
- MASON *debut UK live show*
- MordFustang(Plasmapool)
- Drumsound&Bassline Smith
- Disco of Doom(Discobelle)
- Roksonix (Circus / Mercury)
- Pete Jordan (Spectrum)
- Santero(UK Threestyle DJ Champ)
- Visuals by Blend.
With three massive sell-out shows in London so far in 2011, it is fair to say that Spectrum is quickly becoming the most talked about club brand in the capital.
Their recent Summer Warehouse Party, at Ewer Street Car Park saw performances from Chase & Status, Nero, Zinc, Kissy Sell Out, Redlight and Tomba starring in a bass heavy night that shook Southwark to its foundations.
For their next venture, Spectrum brings a uniquely programmed multi-genre line-up of acts representing modern electronic music in its finest form.
Heading the line-up is a debut live show in the UK for Dutch superstars Mason, fresh from the release of their critically acclaimed album ‘They Are Amongst Us’, which features collaborations with Roisin Murphy,Kurtis Blow and Sam Sparro. Having the biggest dance hit of 2007 with ‘Exceeder’, the duo resisted going down the popular global house route and set about making an album of real substance. In ‘They Are Amongst Us’ they succeeded. Live this duo take to the stage with a ground-breaking fully interactive audio-visual-lights set-up, adding live violins and electronic clarinets to boot! Having rocked the continent so far this year this is the very first live appearance for the Dutchmen.
MordFustang’s rise to the top of the new electro-dubstep sound has been nothing short of phenomenal. The Estonian producer debut release on Miles Dyson’s Plasmapool Recordings went straight to the top of the Beatport charts and a new star was instantly born! Expect fast paced frenetic music that crosses over a number of styles, just the way Spectrum likes it.
Being stalwarts of a scene doesn’t usually inspire much buzz and excitement, however in the case of Drumsound&Bassline Smith nothing could be further from the truth. Their new single Close is out on August 21st and is set to be one of the biggest underground tunes of 2011. Add this to their forthcoming remix of “What Can You Do For Me” by the Utah Saints and you’ll see why these guys are big in the game right now!
Disco of Doom have built up their reputation over the past few years, have seen things go crazy in 2011 with big releases on labels such as Discobelle and further high profile remixes. The Rogue Element and Tom Real as solo artists had big reputations, but as Disco of Doom the combination is explosive!
Circus Records’sRoksonix complete the quintet of Spectrum debutants. The London based duo, take the tear out dubstep sound to new heights and are guaranteed to smash the dancefloor at Proud2.
Spectrum’s Pete Jordan joins production partner and UK RedbullThreestyle DJ champion, Santeroto complete the bill on a night where musical limits will not exist and you’ll likely hear some of the heaviest basslines on the planet. If you are yet to experience the Spectrum phenomenon then here’s your chance to do so, are you ready?

London’s legendary monthly acid house retrospective hosts an electro special – proper old skool DJs playing classic electro (and none of this tech-house pop nonsense)
With special guests Steve Faulkner & ADJ (Pyramid Transmissions, Dead Planet, B4st4rds at Work, Touchin’ Bass, AI, & many more) joining resident DJ Placid
Hosted in Ginglik, one of Londons best kept secrets – an intimate 200 capacity, hidden gem of a subterranean venue underneath Shepherds Bush Green – free cloakroom, friendly staff, pub-priced bar, chillout lounge, and a top notch Turbosound Hi-Lite rig + a 4am license…

Back for the 5th year running, once again Urban Nerds come with a bass fuelled Carnival Special and East London’s biggest underground Notting Hill Carnival warm-up event! After five sell out years, for 2011 they take to XOYO in Shoreditch with an array of underground sounds, headed up by the dancehall, dubstep, baile funk and soca inspired Schlachthofbronx crew, who are joined by an army of DJs ready to bring the Carnival vibe with heaps of reggae, moombahton, garage, funky, electro and of course lots and lots of party bass!

Lemonade is our weekly Saturday party, featuring cutting edge live acts, special guest DJs and our amazing residents. Lemonade will soundtrack your night with upfront electro smashers and classic disco anthems, making it without question the biggest weekly rave up in Dalston.
This week sees energetic, percussive techno don, Matt Walsh, take to the decks. With productions championed by the likes of Simian Mobile Disco, Ivan Smagghe and Optimo, his set is likely to be as distinctive and colourful as his fans. We’re also welcoming back the globetrotting, techno pop DJ that is Scarlett Ettienne so hold onto your hi-hats!

The Spacestation crew get ready to embark on another mission on Friday 29th July at The Horse and Groom in Shoreditch. The latest flight will see residents Cosmonauts joined by fellow hot disco duo, The C90s. Expect a meteor shower of the finest Italo disco, balearic beats, deep chuggy grooves, synth driven melodies, funk fuelled boogies and intergalactic vibes..
The C90s
Danny and Jamie have been sharing their love of disco, house and electro throughout Europe’s biggest clubs ever since they first met in 2007. A remix request from Headman led to their signing to Relish Records in 2009, and two singles soon followed. These, along with their remixes for such artists as Filthy Dukes, Flight Facilities and Villa, received heavy radio play and support from Annie Mac and Pete Tong. The boys have now moved into a new studio and are working tirelessly on their first EP, while looking forward to tours of Australia and the States, and shows at UK festivals this Summer.

Cosmonauts
Firmly making their mark on the intergalactic disco scene, with an emphasis on Total Feeling, Cosmonauts music flips the boundary between tripped out balearic house and full-on italo disco.
Disco Biscuit was released in May on Rayko’s Rare Wiri imprint. Already a fixture in the dj sets of most of the main players in the nu disco world, Rare Wiri have boosted the release with remixes by Ilya Santana, Nelue, Lou Teti (Munga) & Irregular Disco Workers. This is the first of what is about to become an onslaught of material released this year by these space cadets, what with the launch of Super Trooper, their own label, and a slew of remixes for the likes of Tronik Youth, Figures, Pyschemagik, Politeca, Mighty Mouse to name a few.
Chickens in Milan was the first release on Super Trooper in June, with Cycle Eyes to follow shortly afterwards. Remixes have come from Fusty Delights and Psychemagik respectively.
