On the 2nd of July Braindrop returns to the infamous Dutch Master party ship for our annual summer boat rave. Dust off yer cutlasses, flower power shirts and wacky baccy – this year’s fancy dress theme is “Hippie Pirates”.
Without fail the Braindrop boat rave is the most ridiculously fun and epic party of the year. The bass will be thumping, everyone will be jumping and you won’t be able to wipe the manic grin from your toothless mouth for weeks to come.
Leading us on this deranged maritime melee we present the ultimate captains of carnage: bass music eccentric High Rankin, junglist legend Remarc and turntablist trio The McMash Clan. Warming up the dance are new live dubstep sensation Creecha, championed of late by True Tiger, and live digi-dub specialists Nomad Noise.
Also: free shisha pipes on the upper deck, a hippie drum circle – plus rib rattling sound inside.
It’s officially the “Summ-aaarggghh of Love”!

The Blast + YoYo go head to head to provide you with the ultimate post carnival skankout. Acts include: Toddla T / Lil Silva / Seb Chew + Leo G / Smutlee / Arsequake + Dubious. Plus in Room 2 the masters of messy: Stereo8 / El Harvo / Ben Daley / Mr Lingo / We’re Drunk / Daddy Paine. Plus very special guests!!!

It’s been a long bloody wait but it has finally arrived! The sun made its glorious appearance in London this week and with it the first real sense of anticipation for the Summer ahead. Always on hand to enhance your London experience Soundcrash are organising THREE Rooftop parties in East London with top-notch live music, real Jamaican bbq, live graff and many more surprises. Can you kick it? I think you can.
On July 2nd, THE PLAYGROUND will play host to a night of high octane electro-punk, headlined with a DJ set from Gary Numan and Ade Fenton. The jam-packed line up also features the likes of Drums of Death, Cyberpunkers, Without My Medicine, Kites, Neurotic Mass Movement, The Coolness, Fish Don’t Dance, Punx Soundcheck and The Dirty Toyz.
►GARY NUMAN & ADE FENTON The electro pioneer Gary Numan alongside Ade Fenton proves why he’s still the best after over 30 years in music headlining at The Playground prior to the release of their New album, ‘Dead Son Rising’.
►DRUMS OF DEATH Scotland-born Colin Bailey emerged from the London club scene after being snapped up by Joe Goddard (Hot Chip) and Alex Waldron to join their record label and party crew, Greco-Roman Records and has since remixed artists such as Hot Chip, Tricky, Franz Ferdinand, Mando Diao, James Yuill, Steve Mason, Alphabeat and Mika.
►CYBERPUNKERS The Cyberpunkers project is the brain child of Italian born Massi Arena and Fabio Liuzzi, who sought out to merge aspects of music, fashion, design and photography to give their rapidly growing fan base a complete package to enjoy. Now after performing at sold out shows through-out the rest of world, the Electro-Punk duo come to you for a Debut UK performance that you’ll never forget.
“Turn your speakers up and prepare for epic levels of ‘winning’.” Trashbags
►WITHOUT MY MEDICINE Without My Medicine make raucous Stadium Electro-Punk and are known for their energetic and lively shows, fusing the punk energy of the Sex Pistols with the futuristic synths and beats of Depeche Mode – Think massive choruses, ripping guitar solos and searing synths.
►KITES After forming over a mere 6 months ago, this London-based Indie/Electro band have already been hailed as one of the ‘Hottest Unsigned Bands’ in the UK as well as receiving comparisons to the likes of musical pioneers Talking Heads and New Order.
“Intensely physical and energetic live performances coupled with tightly constructed tracks have won the band an adoring fanbase, a wave of industry attention!” MusicWeek
►NEUROTIC MASS MOVEMENT Part electronic rock band, part experimental performance art project fronted by the eccentric Yin Neurotic and David Neurotic, create ominous soundscapes with their drum machines and dark electronics. With none other than part of Einstürzende Neubauten producing their upcoming works it is clear that here is a cult band in the making.
►THE COOLNESS Drawing influence from their heroes Jimi Hendrix and New Order, THE COOLNESS strive to maintain the psychedelic ‘Summer of Love’ spirit that these Legends portrayed through their infusion of classic rock and raving electronic dance music that has developed into a truly full-on, No-Holds-Barred, Sex-Fuelled and impassioned live performance – guaranteed to leave you with an experience to remember and rejoice.
►FISH DON’T DANCE Kicking up a storm as usual, the Fish Don’t Dance DJs will be bringing you the best of the electro and techno scene.
►PUNX SOUNDCHECK The partnership of John Taylor and Arif Salih brings together the music that shaped them and the music that’s shaping their future, traversing disco and house, reggae and dub-step, electro and (old) rave, all the while sounding effortlessly and elegantly modern.
►THE DIRTY TOYZ Fusing electro house and dub step, The Dirty Toyz have branded their own style on a growing sound, drawing on their unique and individual musical backgrounds to conjure up ear bending, mind blowing, dirty music that will leave you craving more.

Nosaj Thing (Alpha Pup) is well known for his dense, off kilter electronic hip hop productions.
His debut long player Drift (Alpha Pup), as well as remixes for Flying Lotus, The XX and, unofficially, Drake, have shown his ability in the studio, and his recent experiments combining live performance with live visuals have demonstrated a depth to his work few artists achieve.
Requiring a cinema size screen and high spec projectors, the AV show is both beautiful and hypnotic, which combined with his unique sound creates a truly immersive experience.
London based producer Becoming Real has carved a niche for himself with a lo-fi hip hop / two step hybrid sound, that never stays one thing long enough to be defined. Taking influences from grime, juke and obscure electronica, there are glitchy melodies, off step beats and a couple of proper bangers amongst the handful of releases so far.
Becoming Real plays live, with support from EE associates Patchwork Pirates.

Tempo Clash #3 has plenty to live up to… The online reaction from DJ’s King Cannibal, Kidkanevil & Mr Beatnick, as well as crowd participants Blue Daisy and Subeena reflected the type of night Rhythm Factory had witnessed last time around. Thankfully the third night in the series keeps tradition on track bolstering a massive line up of producers pushing forward the boundaries of “beats” music. Kutmah a DJ/producer instrumental in the rise of Low End Theory, Brainfeeder, Hit + Run and Dublab, is regarded by many as one of the worlds most complete and diverse DJ’s. He will be joined by some of the UK’s finest DJ’s and beat-smiths, including OM Unit (still fresh from the hype of his highly celebrated Timps EP), Jon Phonics, BUG and DJ Irk. Expect post-Dilla vibes, serious wobble, 8bit bleeps, driving drum patterns and a live crowd!
