Free show at Catch
Very pleased to announce that 44 will be hosting a free London show from Downliners Sekt. Having got many a tongue wagging last year with their ‘We Make Hits, Not The Public’ EP, crossing the dots between dubstep, post-rock and electronica.
Downliners Sekt are setting their own musical boundaries with a sound that is both alien yet soaked in the human touch. Pooling their influences to create something entirely new, it’s no wonder they have been picking up huge support from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs and Rob Booth (Electronic Explorations).
Take a listen to their outstanding BBC Radio 1 mix from last year.

On Thursday March 24th they will perform a live audio-visual set at Catch. This show will have a limited capacity so please get on down early.

Surefire.Sound makes a triumphant return to the capital on Friday 25th March with another line up of high quality electronic music that will turn Corsica Studios into a melting pot of creative freedom and expression.

SpaceStation takes a voyage east, picking up legend Justin Robertson, Kill em alls – Stopmakingme and resident comic crusaders – Cosmonauts for this intergalactic disco experience.

LINE UP
Evil Nine
Christian Nash (XFM)
Tom Central (Keep Up!)
The innovative twosome that make up Evil Nine have been at the top of the dance music game for over a decade. Initially bursting onto the scene as a Breaks act, they have gone on to create a sound that is wholly unique and have enjoyed success both on Adam Freeland’s “Marine Parade” label, as well as their new imprint “For Lovers”. 2 albums, 1 Fabric Live CD & countless remixes later they still take the time to drop by The Queen’s for a special DJ set.

Ahead of the release of their debut LP on Keysound, LV perform a selection of “Routes” live with Josh Idehen a poet come MC and vocalist on the album. LV produced some of dubsteps finest records but like much of dubsteps original cohorts they have moved on, with synth influenced hip-hop and South African house being the flavour of recent releases on Hyperdub and Keysound. They’re joined by Donky Pitch’s Ghost Mutt and his synth funk and mutant R&B. Also on duty is H.U.D., head of Stillcold Records, a label we believe are really going to make some noise this year, from him, expect the finest house music in all it’s depth and recent variations. Of course they’re joined by Pipedown residents, Cntrst, Sduk and Rylski. It’s free entry all mf night long.

D’Julz is coming to London
The French DJ and Bass Culture Records Boss will be headlining the next Exstatic Sounds Warehouse Party on Saturday the 26th March.
Since starting out back in 1992 D’Julz has been at the forefront of the Parisian House scene with his residency at the cities infamous Rex Club, his own imprint Bass Culture as well as releases on some of today’s finest record labels. He is a true fan favourite and UK followers will be very pleased to see him play a London show. The night will take place in an East London Warehouse space that is yet to be announced. With local artists Claus Voigtmann and Onirik completing the line up this is set to be a quality night.

On Saturday 26th March Urban Nerds are back at XOYO, heading yet deeper into the underground, with a carefully selected line-up of some of London’s biggest players at the heart of the grime, garage, dubstep, funky and UK bass evolution! Things are headed up by Crack House pioneer Zinc and grime stars, Newham Generals!
